Med2 Gold edition not launching .exe files

Hey

Just installed med 2 with all kingdoms as i'm wanting to play it on my new pc. I remember having a similar problem when I installed the 1.05 patch on my old pc but that time i managed to fix it,this time nothing launches at all.

I have no problem installing anything and this time even Med2 will not start.

Basically the Kingdoms .exe 's don't do anything by the looks of it, and the launcher for Med2 will load, if you select one of the kingdom expansions it just close's and if you select Med2 it just plays music for about 10-30 seconds then stops and will not go any further. Installed staight from the box, no patches or anything. All drivers (including graphics card) up to date and I tried turning off the UAC but nothing helps.

I've noticed it does not even try to load the disk in my dvd drive. Trying to autorun it from there does not work either.

Kinda stuck on this one guys if anyone can help?

Sorry, we've managed to fix the problem. Seems like Bit defender does not like running certain programs such as steam and med2 on windows 8

Oh and btw the steam issue is for something else, this was the DVD version of gold edition if anyone else has similar issue's in the future.
