    Default Smiths of Eregion

    Hey,

I'm playing with high elves and I just rebuilded Ost-in-Edhil. I now got 28k people but I can't upgrade to a huge city in order to make smiths of eregion.

So I went to descr_regions and adjusted eregion to huge city and even deleted map.rwm.

What else can I do to make Ost-in-Edhil upgradeable?

Oh and I thought you could update mithlond too and I just hit the requirements, and I can't upgrade it.

I was testing around with this not so long ago. The Gwaith-thing-a-mabob that allows the Smith recruitment is actually a guild. The easiest way to get it is to build every smith type (armor upgrade) building you can in Ost-in-Edhil. You also get points for building them elsewhere but not as many. Once you build an Armourer you should have enough points for them to offer it. Make sure you keep enough cash for it on hand.

Also, I'm not sure if it always happens this way but while testing despite having an Armourer while it was a minor city, I didn't receive the offer until Ost-in-Edhil was a large city. The building browser shows the rebuilt version available at minor city but typically 2nd level guilds (ruined version is actually the 1st level) are available only to at least large cities so I wonder if something else wasn't interfering with the offer mechanic. At the time, I wasn't too bothered because the point of my test was something else.

It would seem the only 2 guild I can build are explorers guild and history guild

I found out it is a ruin you need to rebuild, however when I first took over Ost-in-Edhil I took the ruins for an orc building and demolished it. Is there any way to rebuild it?

I am pretty sure you cannot rebuild it.

You need to update Ost-in-Edhil one or two levels (should be avilable to read in the building tree I think) and then have enough guild-points so that the game will offer you to build Gwaith-i-Mírdain, the Jewel smith guild (it replace the ruins which the settlement start with)

It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it.
