Petition to deport Piers Morgan

This guy seems mentally unstable. I say we deport him before he starts butchering people like he has already done with his journalistic credibility.

A petition calling on President Obama to deport CNN anchor Piers Morgan from the United States has passed the 25,000-signature threshold needed to require a response from the White House.

The petition against Morgan is based on his criticism of gun advocates in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., shooting, which the authors describe as an attack on the Second Amendment, and therefore as an attempt to "undermine the Bill of Rights."

"British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment," the authors write. "We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens."

Last Tuesday, Morgan interviewed Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners for America, and called him "dangerous," "stupid," and "an idiot." The next night he told John Lott, the author of More Guns, Less Crime that he needed "to stop repeating a blatant lie about what happens in other countries."

It's an SOB of a rifle, it's very very heavy. Australian Vietnam vets carried them and hated them, but were able to reasonably easily get M-16s from the Americans.

More stupid than anything else is that petitions do not decide immigration rights, I do not know whether Piers Morgan has a visa, a greencard or is a US citizen - but whatever he is, even on a visa, his due process rights would be violated if the US government acted to cancel his visa because of a petition. It's just so dumb on so many levels. I vehemently disagree with him, I think he's a leftist tool who says all sorts of leftie apologist drivel, but that doesn't mean he gets deported nor does it mean that anyone can even call for him to be deported. It is just an imbecilic thing to ask for or try to do.

What would work and would be MUCH more effective is to petition his sponsors on his pathetic show to say to them, americans for guns does not want Toyota or whomever to advertise on your show. Sponsors cave easily with the sort of outrage that could be gathered on a take my guns platform. Then you would find very very quickly he was out apologising. As it is, he has nothing to lose. Petition his sponsers, his source of cash if you like - that will hurt him. This just wastes everyones time and makes the petitioners look dumb.

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.
