Excellant work, Razor! I will be following this with a keen eye! +rep.
Sengoku: Total War (a Shogun mod for M2TW) - Work In Progress
Late Roman Era Campaign Map for M2TW
Late Roman Units for M2TW
Globalization: making someone else's problem your problem
A prequel? Alas, no, but I am writing a sequel set 2 years later following the exploits of different men and two different legions tasked to advance into Armenia and relieve a queen caught in a desperate siege: The Janus Eagle will be out this year!
Seriuosly, looking forward to this mod more than RTW2.
Yes, very very nice. Seeing this reminds me of a mod in the making a very long time ago called "The Great Migration" the late roman era is a very interesting time. Great job, the helmets look very nice. I look forward to this mod.
No last time I saw it was back in 2008. As I said a very long time ago.
Thanks all for the kind words. Progress is going steady.
Interesting. Will you also work on writing an AAR? I've seen your AAR about the Nowhere Legion some time ago, and read some of it, and it was quite nice!
I hope your expectations will be met.
Yes, but I'm still in doubt about how to actually implement the conversion to christianity. Since religion is basically used for cultural/ethnical makeup of a region (Roman, Germanic, Celtic, Persian etc.) I might use 'Roman (pagan)' and 'Roman (christian)' as separate cultures or just one 'Roman' culture. It's something that still needs to be worked out. But as funny as it may sound (judging the name of this mod), it has no real priority at the moment. Creating a Roman civil war scenario with several Roman factions battling it out against each other is the central element of the gameplay.
And yes, there will be more shield variations. For Roman units I aim at three shield variations per unit. Though all variations will have the same or a similar shield pattern.
Thanks Caudillo87!

WOW, LEGENDARY TIMES! VERY INTERESTING ERA TO MAKE A MOD! BRAVO!
Great Idea man. Now I'm studying the imperial period of Rome and of course it was the most interesting.... Good Luck...
Fantastic idea! I'm waiting for a "seroius" mod in Roman timeframe and actually I'm surprosed that there is none released (for M2TW) to this day. And I'm equally interested in both republic-early imperial era (conquer the barbarians!) and late-imperial era (rebuild Rome's glory!). This is one of my three most anticipated mods (next to EBII and De Bello Mundi) - so I wish you luck!
And for myself I wish many previews posted very often
Well then, have another WIP preview

Very nice helmets, very detailed - I hope my computer can take it... Very nice models too, keeps getting better and better!
Wonderful work! The helmets are exquisite and the ingame shots look great!
Thanks Caudillo87 and SeniorBatavianHorse! And don't worry about your computer not being able to handle them; these helmets are reserved for just the Roman generals and family members so you won't see them appear that often in the field. They're indeed quite 'heavy' compared to other helmets so they will only come in these two varieties which is actually more than enough. They're both based on the jeweled Berkasovo I helmet of which the first helmet has very close resemblances. The second helmet is a crossover between the jeweled Berkasovo and the jeweled Budapest helmet of which the latter has a crest attachment by means of using belts. I kind of had enough to make another jeweled helmet which would have looked little different from the jeweled Berkasovo I helmet so I decided to reuse the Berkasovo I helmet and rearrange the crest to resemble the Budapest helmet.
Ingame they look really good, but I'm still working on the Roman general and the Roman General's bodyguard unit the Equites Singulares so no ingame pics of them yet. Stay tuned for more updates in the near future.

Will do! I will re-install MTWII just to play this once it comes out - never mind RTW2!
Glorious, this mod looks excellent.
