Are you making sure the Script is running?

You activate the script by clicking on a city whenever you load your save. You should do that to ensure the smooth running of the mod.

The revolts happen in turn 2 or 3 from the start of the campaign.

    Hello,

I have a question -- when I go into a battle with Roma Surrectum 2.5, the movements of the armies are kind of "jerky." I don't have that problem with RTW 1.5, or with SPQR. Is there something I need to set in the options menu?

On an unrelated note, consider playing with the BI or (even better) Alex EXE. You'll go up against a better AI. Using the 1.5 AI, you'll be constantly going up against tiny armies.

RSII really stretches the graphics limitations of the actual engine. I suggest that you experiment with your settings by toning them down in stages. The most likely cause will be the speed of your processor; modern PCs having relatively low CPU speeds because of multi-cores and especially separate and powerful graphics cards. Unfortunately RTW et al doesn't know anything about additional cores, separate GPUs and even more than 2Gb of RAM.....

Ok -- I'll mess around with it. Thank you for your time and response. I'm not much of a computer geek, but my computer is an HP that is 3 years old. I have a lot of GB of free space left. I really like the SPQR & Roma Surrectum Mod's -- as they look really nice. They seem to be more difficult though, at least to me they are. Thank you.

You're more than welcome - if you look in the Technical sub-sub-forum you may find some additional information. Things I can think of:

    - Don't use the Bloom settings
    - Seriously consider 16-bit graphics rather then 32-bit
    - Make sure Anti-alias is OFF
    - Use Large units not Huge
    - reduce the settings on some of the 'less important/vital' advanced graphics choices like Vegetation

Try in stages until you get what you want.

The 'high-res unit models' setting at the bottom of the launcher could make a big difference too. Having that on can totally kill performance. If you turn it off all it means is that when you zoom out in a battle the unit models revert to low res (I think).

Nope - I have mine set on (otherwise zooming in on occasion doesn't look nice at all) and this doesn't impact much it seems - but zooming out still reverts to the simpler models. I do wonder if my PC might get a little faster with it off and may just give it a try. Sometimes it is just nice to look at all those glorious units!

Damn, you're right. Just tried it and it didn't really make much difference. Not sure why I believed it killed performance. Maybe when I turned it on the first time it coincided with one of those buggy battles where everything goes really jerky and I blamed that setting (seems to happen when units can't get where they are supposed to like an enemy siege engine trying to enter a battle through trees, not RS2 related some sort of core engine flaw). Sorry for misinformation.
