    Default the gameplay movies

the gameplay movies [as at totalwar.com - directs to gamespot]

I just had a look at the gameplay movies, they look great but...

the units still seam like they are moving on ice and running too fast – although to a far lesser degree than in rome.

The individual soldiers fight in conjunction with their opponents, but i felt there needed to be a delay that would act as 'reaction time' to strikes and blocks etc. this is because the soldier kinda jumps between actions – the movement needs to be made more natural and smoother.

otherwise it all sounds great, roll on winter

When watching those videos you need to look at the date that they were released , a long time since those have been released so a lot of work has been made on the game since then.

You didnt buy that a video released nearly a year before the release date of the game showed incomplete animations?

... what's this got to do with anything? As far as I know, no one knows for certain. Oswald (or the real killer, if it's not him) is probably the only one(s) who knows for certain whether it was him or someone else. Sweden's prime minister was assassinated 20 years ago and we still don't know who did it.

What I meant was that when I first saw a movie of M2TW they said they had completely reworked everything, and yet the game looked and handled the exact same way as RTW did - it had the same AI flaws etc. I was disappointed and doubted that the game would really be as good as they said it would be. This was, by the way, in May, not in November. Also, I have yet to play the game, and before I do so, I will continue to doubt certain promises about AI improvement etc. RTW has been patched several times and using a siege tower still causes my soldiers to run in circles, being killed by the enemy archers instead of entering the tower, despite the fact that the patch was said to fix this issue.

    Why are you so surprised?

How would see any of the AI flaws if you didnt play it? and you can see that the campaign map AI is much better in the screenies, everyone is conquering and creating alliances and chaos everywhere, french in spain english in france danes in byzantine...

I... actually haven't seen that the campaign AI has improved from the screenshots. I like the new system that enables other factions to remember your past actions with them and to act accordingly, but I haven't actually seen proof that the campaign AI has improved. Which screenshot are you talking about exactly? Show it to me and maybe I'll change my mind.

Also, my main gripe with doubting the game would be so great came when I saw one of the in-game movies. The thread was called "terrible unit behaviour", and it has been deleted by now, but I made a few very clear points there about how the cavalry charge suffered from the same crippling problems as in RTW. I became sceptical. Also, since you haven't played it either, how do you know any of the AI flaws have been corrected?
