Which one of these Card's is better.

1. 256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory
2. 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS

I Personally havnt looked up the newer video cards(I got a Nvidia 64 MB 4400 MX) out so i dont know **** about both cards, could some on tell me which one is better.

I'd be eternally grateful to you.
oh the ATI card is costing me 90$ and the GeForce one 200$.

Difficult to find many benchmarks for laptop cards. A $90 card runs like a $90 card though. The more than twice as expensive card obviously canes it. But is the cheaper card good enough?
Read few individual reviews online. The X1400 is ok. The 7900GS should appears to be a good mid range card. Trying to find head to head benchmarks and proper FPS rating rather than "My machine roxs".
Try notebookforum.com they seem to be very keen on gaming lap tops.

Found a review with the 'same' machine "Dell Inspiron 1705" but with the 7900GTX, 7900GS and X1400 slotted in. Note that the 7900 only has 1 Gig of ram compared to 2 Gig of the other two machines. Everything else I presume is identical.
They run Battlefield 2, Call fo Duty 2, Far Cry, Day of Defeat Source Engine and Quake 4 benchmarks.
Remember to adjust your FPS expectations for your CPU/RAM etc when compared to the test rigs.

The NVidia one, absolutely! If you've got the money of course...

The 7900 GS obviously thrashes the X1400, infact i doubt that the X1400 will be of anyuse if you want to play modern games. The X1600 is barley enough to play modern games, so i highly doubt that the X1400 will be of anyuse, although im sure that the X1400 will play RTW if that is what you are after.
