Can't install Med 2

Hi guys,

So my problem is that i can't install Medieval 2. When i run the setup the splash screen appears for a few seconds, while the little progress bar in the "configuring setup" box moves a bit. And then it all just dissapears. No crash, no error, just like that. If i try to run the setup again, i have to kill Installshield in the task manager.

I have UAC disabled and registry cleared.

Yes I did, but like I said, I cleared the leftovers in the registry.

Yes, but i uninstalled them.
I lost the dvds but i had backup ISO on my pc.

ISOs don't work. It's already been tried. You're back to buying if you want to play.

What about reinstalling my system and burning the isos on dvd?

Been tried, too, with no success. Sega put something in those discs that can't be replicated.

I've got the same issue on my laptop. Thing is, I've noticed that the install continues, it skips all the agreements, cd keys, everything, goes straight into install on my c drive, creates sega folders, gets partway down, then goes to remove everything and shut down.
Here's the other thing. It doesnt appear to be unpacking properly neither. Because when I load it on my desktop the launcher works as intended, music plays, and it goes through the cd key agreements and installs okay. On my laptop, then launcher comes on the screen but the music doesnt play, and when i click install it goes into the installing then uninstalling without asking a single question issue....
Both laptop and desktop are Windows 7 64 bit...

Nope. Laptop is brand new.

Time to activate your copy of Windows and run Windows Update manually installing all software options first.
Also disable the UAC and when you get a chance install in C:\Games.

Oh, okay. I didn't mean day old laptop. It is fully up and running since September. UAC is disabled.
As for installing in a particular directory....
The installer skips all that when I load it up on the laptop. I cant pick a directory.
It goes and puts a sega folder in my C:\Program Files (x86) and goes to put all the core files in....or whatever it can before it decides to reverse the process, delete the sega folder, and mysteriously quit completely.

From what I can tell the installshield wizard fails to initialize. Normally on my desktop it pops up and you have to click next, agree with terms, put in a cd key, select directories ect. On my laptop it skips all of that, but the green bar prior goes to the exact same spot and then then window disappears and everything happens in the background.

This is really eff-ing odd. Drop your DxDiag on us. I want to see your system drivers.

Run a good full virus scan with Malwarebyes in Safe Mode.
Something is hijacking the process.

Not sure if this matters but it was like last week when I installed Empire Total War on the laptop and that went smoothly.

Yeah I have utorrent on my system...not sure how that will affect this since I've pretty much got the same stuff on both the laptop and desktop though.

Looks like no resolution was found there as well.

I also think I have the problem pinpointed to Demoshield.

My laptop will run setup on anything besides RTW and MTWII, both of which use Demoshield 12. Both RTW and MTWII appear to not be unpacking or accessing their files properly, as both installers boot up with no music (On my desktop music is played)
