SEXY Mila Kunis was the target of a horrific anti-Semitic insult - from a politician in her native Ukraine.
The Black Swan babe was reportedly called a "zhydovka" by Igor Miroshnichenko - who said she was not a "true Ukrainian".
Celeb website TMZ said the phrase translates as "dirty Jewess" and the slur has caused outrage in the Jewish community.
Miroshnichenko is said to have written the insult on a Facebook page after the term was deemed "legal" by Ukrainian ministers.
Protests have occurred outside the Ukrainian Justice Ministry with demonstrators wanting the anti-Semitic term banned.
Mila - who topped our 100 hottest women in the world poll earlier this year - told how she fled the country of her birth when she was growing up for fear of persecution.
She said: “My whole family was in the Holocaust. My grandparents passed and not many survived.
“After the Holocaust, in Russia you were not allowed to be religious. So my parents raised me to know I was Jewish. You know who you are inside.”
Her grandparents managed to escape the Second World War slaughter — but other relatives did not.
Mila — born Milena — saw anti-Semitic graffiti in her school in Chernivtsi, a city in the south-west of the country.
She said: “When I was in school you would still see anti-Semitic signs.
“One of my friends who grew up in Russia, she was in second grade. She came home one day crying. Her mother asked why and she said on the back of her seat there was a swastika.
“This is a country that obviously does not want you.”

The Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles, a global Jewish human rights organization that confronts anti-Semitism, hate and terrorism, has come to Kunis' defense in a letter to the Ukrainian prime minister, according to TMZ. In the letter, Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper express their "outrage and indignation" and say Kunis is owed an apology.

The slur is laced with historic anti-Semitism. “The last time this term was used in any official way was during the Nazi occupation, when the Jews or ‘Zhyds' of Kiev were ordered to convene in preparation for their mass murder at Babi Yar,” Eduard Dolinsky, director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, told Jewish news entity JTA. “The Justice Ministry and politicians should adjust their definitions and language according to what Ukrainian Jews consider offensive, and we find the word ‘zhyd’ to be just that."

"The temperature around this discussion is rising," he added, saying that the Jewish community in Ukraine is “highly concerned” by how “anti-Semitic speech is becoming more prevalent in Ukraine, especially online.”

Jewish activists have petitioned the ministry to prevent right-wing nationalists from using the slur "zhyd" or its feminine derivative "zhydovka," according to the Times of Israel.

The petition, however, failed. The ministry cited a Ukrainian academic dictionary to state that the term "zhyd" is merely an archaic term for "Jew" and not necessarily a slur, according to the Time of Israel. The ministry did admit that "Jew" should not be used in official government communications.

Considering that most of the soviet politburo members who suggested and implemented the mass starvation policy were ethnic Jews, I find that hardly surprising.

Antisemitism in the Ukraine was hardly a result of the holdomor. Hundreds of thousands of Jews had been murdered in the Ukraine even before the Revolution.
