The fact that an article is submitted means it will be published it would only be a matter of time. the work of the writer would be done rest would be left to the editor and when he decides to publish it. The only problem I see is that the CdeC would not have access to see it unless they were staff which makes it difficult for them to judge the contribution unless they take the word of their fellow CdeC members

I share my fellow councilors' feelings. As I said before, although this candidate shows a good attitude and great potential, he just doesn't seem there yet. I have also wrestled with Aikanar's idea, that is, voting yes on the basis of future prospects. But as Aikanar said, then I would have to do the same for every candidate, and I believe this type of thinking is too subjective. It is hard to judge potential and admit candidates based thereon. I will stick with hard contributions which I can actually evaluate in an objective manner.

If my fellow citizens have any contradicting or supporting opinions on this matter, I'd love to hear it in the Townhall.

I still need to inquire Legio where I can buy that dictionary to understand Mega's posts

That's a good point and pretty much what is true for every not published/released work. The problem with unreleased/unpublished work is that it is first and foremost not yet presented to the public and we simply cannot know if that ever might happen. While in case of an already submitted article, of which we have no indication here btw., we could be 100% sure that it will be published due to the TWC's publications proven (even if sometimes belated ) release schedules. We cannot know this for mods, discussions, creative writing or what not.

Even in the case of, say, a map preview we just cannot know whether or not a mod will ever be released. The work itself might be created but we will never know whether it will benefit TWC as a contribution its members can enjoy. Written previews are another thing, the content is made public to the community to read and hence to enjoy. It's not at all easy and I think it needs judgement on a case to case and not generalized basis.

However, I would be willing to accept the word of the fellow CdeC councillors working in content in general that such a thing might exist in benefit for any given applicant.

Edit: Shank, I remember that quote

I stand by what I said when I said it, nevertheless it's noteworthy to pick up what robin said back in the day. I'm too lazy to search for the exact quote of Shanks application but I remember that it went like: I agree with you on being nice but being a possitive influence on the community is more than just being nice.

Like then, something like a possitive influence on the commnuity is hard to judge, but I tend to believe -now not then- that being of a possitive influence to the community is the best a member can do to TWC. That being said, it surely is one of the hardest thing to measure also since it's non-existance and effect are solemly up to speculation, while solid articles, run rpgs or released mods are things one can grasp and take apart.

As a reminder to fashionably late arriving councilors, and for continuity, inclusion, please be reminded that there is an addendum to this application in chambers.

Is it possible then to get a character reference from the ES editor as to lolisuck's attitude/effort that goes into his articles?

Kay...I shall not be here tomorrow and only briefly Christmas eve{the libraries holiday hours} so my hand is forced.
Ite, here we go, my pre vote findings ....

*Applicant cares for and has invested in the community, and they in him. Reference Q&S threads and posts. A Thema Devia stalwert. Friendly and helpful.
    * Has stood his ground in tribunal, with respect.
    * Has gained a solid foundation in modding.
    * Has laid a solid foundation of work for the Content Branch.
    * He seeks to enrich this community and work for it's betterment.
    ******

    * Modding contributions: Not mind blowing{as of yet}, reference modding councilor's comments.
    * Content contributions: Two editions in, and the signs are encouraging.
    * Solid Citizen, and a community building block.

    ******

The applicant has come a long way and his presence will soon be indeed noteworthy. A solid body of work, but still a few months away from piercing the threshold that will ensure his asencion.

I am happy to see him here and look forward to his next review with relish and joyful anticipation...

My vote at this time is no, though I shall withhold my vote til all councilors have had an opportunity to present their findings.

    In conclusion:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The Thema Devia Horde will soon own this "Mother-Sucker!"...

Entirely possible! You can ask for anything of that nature and see what response you get.

Could we pleae be given an official statement by a member of moderation branch considering the applicants moderation issues meaning whether or not he qualifies?

Edit: I've been informed that from his appeal onward, the applicants record is clean. Thanks for the info guys!

If somebody considers the new posted index, one should consider as well that it is based off of http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...48#post8658848 and that a lot of staff members have contributed to it, some rather heavily like Ishan. In short, yes he has posted that, but no it is not his creation. Edit: nevertheless he seems to have contributed to the latest update. Just wanted to set it into perspective.

    Same problem... darn Chrome.

@Aik I agree, but it is something to worth noting - it was quite out of date if I remember correctly.

I'm verging for a close no - the applicant has a great community spirit, and I commend that. However his contributions (whilst worthy) are a bit thin on the ground. I'd like to see a few more ES Issues, or a bronze quill perhaps, as well as some more work on modding.

With chrome? Probably a picture in the signature of one of the posters, I'll report it in the Q&A.

    Shank,

sure it's worth mentioning and it's worth considering! Yes, iirc Ishan did the last great sweep a year ago and even though the index has seen some smaller updates since, it needed a general update - was on my schedule with Vault hehe, not anymore now, which I have to thank content for I just wanted to set the thread into perspective since not everybody might be familiar with the m2k workshop.

Concerning the vote. The poll will be up today and will last for 5 days. There's a lot of time left for discussion and thought

    I'm also of this conviction.

I have to agree here and it is definitely something I'll keep in mind when voting. Right now I feel that his good attitude can make up for a critical mass contribution-wise...

I miss Ishan he always had insightful stuff to say about the QP cases. I think I'll need those 5 days because I'm still very much on the fence about this. He's a great community guy and has dabbled in many aspects of TWC life but like I said, I'm still a bit unconvinced he's done enough. Leaning towards a yes right now because of his great attitude
