    Default Tyrian purple

Recently I have been kind of obsessed with the fascinating story behind the Tyrian purple, the ancient dye which was the trademark of Carthage.
Now look at the newest screenshot

Did you realize something? They are all wearing purple. Considering how expensive this particular dye was, does it mean that all soliders in this picture were from the richest class in the society? Or is this a CA-proved inaccuracy which however enhances the beauty of the game?

Note that I'm not nit-picking here. I'm completely satisfied with any colours used in game as long as they look good. Just wanted to bring up a topic of discussion on a gloomy foggy day.

Are you aware that unit isnt a standard-average-citizen militia but the sacred band? While im not sure if all the members of it needed to be in the upper echelons of the carthaginian society (it would make sense), i can understand CA wants to represent them like having the best of the best (including dyes )

Sacred Band, which is the unit in the screenshot, is made up of Carthage's wealthiest, so it stands to reason that they can afford the most expensive dyes and equipment.

The purple sleeves look really strange imo.

It's what they wore. They're going for a more historic look this time around. The helmets look less intimidating as well, but... again, that was what they used.

Well, it's what they used the one time they fought and were completely destroyed. Numidian cav is where it is at.
