Yes Reinstate him, it was foolish and cowardly for him to leave in the first place.

Hm... what about... let Tostig decide? I guess he's watching this and laughing his ass off. And when he had enough fun, he'll make he's decision.

Well, he can't watch this, because curial affairs are closed to peregrini, I believe.

I am talking to Tosig and will talk with the powers that be to have his status changes if he wants this. I'll also find a way to do this without breaking the Syntagmarse.
Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

Tostig would be laughing his ass off, if he could view the Proth...

After talking to Tostig and reading his posts, I know that he would much rather be reinstated under his Old patron Garb, than have to be repatronised by someone else. And yes he does want to be reinstated, but I don't think that will mean the end of him and others wanting change. I am of the belief Tostig should be in the Curia helping see any changes through, rather than sat out watching.

He has made his decision, and that decision is to be reinstated under his old patron, if the Curia wishes...

And I think we'd be better off without him when it comes to his views on change. Both views are political statements though that should play no part in whether he returns or not.

I didn't know Tostig was a drama queen.

"I hate the CVRIA, take the badge. Take it now! Oh deary me!"

    *a few days pass"

"Oh, please, give it back! I beg of youuuuu."

If Tostig leaves when the CVRIA is in crisis, he should not be allowed to come back when its fine and dandy. Either stick with it when the going gets rough, or stay the hell out.

The guys an asset to the CVRIA, but whats the CVRIA but a bunch of laws and badges? And if the guy can't stick around and help out when he - "the most valuable of civs" - is in dire need, then why should he be allowed back?

I agree Shyam, hear hear and amen......he should go through the process of patronage again, like any other plebian, if not, the value of the badge and position are diminished.

well and then we can have staff appoint him Tribounos for good measure I guess. Way to go. If this place is coming apart at the seams it is this kind of actions that's responsible.

Ah so from now on it is OK to make a fuss resigning and then return? I'll remember that.

I'll support his reinstatement. He was just making a point and sticking to his principles, and now that his point has been made we should welcome him back in our ranks.

Well if he accepts reinstatement he obviously isn't sticking to his principles. Anyway I've done my job here. It isn't as if I'll be greatly disturbed if he returns. Forgive me for being ****** off though. It was I who proposed the amendment that allows civitates to resign their rank by publicly requesting it in the Curia. At the time I believed that no-one determined to leave could be prevented from making a rant about it somewhere anyway, and that it wouldn't be much of a political tool because once a civ made that rant their role would be over. It's just a pity to see it politicised. I guess Omnipotent Q was right after all. Pity he isn't here to gloat about it.

Sorry, but this is a farse, Tostig left as a curial statement, now it seems that statement means nothing to him and he dosn't givve a damn about the point he was trying to make. Now no-one will gie a damn when someone resigns, it'll always be "Oh, he'll do a Tostig and come crawling back in a few days". It isn't a statement, its a mistake.

What about we let Tostig speak? :hmmm:

    Tostig on the IRC channel:
[15:51:13] <Tostig^afk> Nah, I don't really care what the fags want to hypothesise about what I want and what I don't want. I'm having quite enough fun as it is without having to worry about whatever their whimsical dissetersions are. It is obvious that my resignation hasn't changed them one bit. If certain people want me back to help then they can damn well post and ask me rather than sneaking about. I made it quite clear that I wasn't going to hang about.
Quite sums up what he thinks.

All possibilities set aside, does the curia need a say in this matter?

I wholeheartedly support his reinstatement, and I'd liek to poitn out that the Trium have the power to make him Civitate again immediatly.
