I have seen the curia turn on itself so many times. Then we are all happy and get immersed into these little RPG and proud of our accomplishments. Then another wave hits and we hate ourselves again. It seems rather unnecesary to me. We have an ON and Archer the absolute authority. This will not change. The curia holds no real power, this will not change. We can make superficial changes and we have fun doing it, this will not change. We a rather intellegent bunch worthy of great posting and often patron client relationships help both parties post better.

So can we please just stop all this ********?

I know that the Curia has no real power. But, if we wanted power complaining and infighting is not the way to go about getting more respect.


I know that ON is probably never going to allow all the rights and responsibilities that the Curia probably would like to have, but think about it, we can elect moderaters, write the Constitution of TWC, make important changes, so *****ing about everything, fighting about everything is stupid.

It only had power because Sulla gave the curia power. Before Sulla the curia was just like right now,..... actually less , it had no say whatsoever into choosing moderators, neither voting on various things. And yet the Curia was a very intellectual place and highly regarded as a sub forum, where everyone would have liked to participate. The trouble is not with the Curia, the trouble is with the participants.

Look, I agree completely with Kscott. If there's any real problem in the Curia it's the civitates' inclination to jump on the first bandwagon that comes along. This, indeed, is just another "phase". We'd be better off swinging rather less wildly from one extreme to another. I've always supported change when I thought it was needed, but never with the intention of being radical or disruptive. Looking back over the past 8 months or so I've been a civitate I can see definite improvements. Critical I may be, but I'd never go as far as to throw away the good things with the bad in blind reaction. Nostalgia, enjoy it for what it is, but do not rely on it for guidance!

Yes Kscott, I completely agree. The curia is just one big fun MMORPG but without the monthly subscription charges. We have huge amounts of fun creating little bills and change little laws, and this is the way it should remain, after all it keeps many a member posting here, and Im sure the Curia dosent want the monsterous task of actually running the day to day operations of the site that Archer does. So keep the Curia, and the civitate's power to change little laws and create little bills and all will be fine.

Over the last week or so there have been countless radical proposals that quickly get buried under an avalanche of people saying "I agree!" and "I disagree!", and then somebody starts a new thread with another bunch of radical proposals.

It doesn't seem to be achieving a whole lot as far as I can see. But we're all having fun, and that's what matters.
