I know the requirements for rome 2 has not been revealed yet but apprentely the minimum requirements will be the same as Shogun 2.

I really dont know what i need to be looking at as im not an expert at these things so ill post some of my system details below.

So would rome 2 work on these? I hope ive given the correct details you need to look at.

    Erm
Well id say something like, atleast a dualcore that does 2.8ghz per a core, atleast 2 gig ram, preferably 4 gig, and a actual vidieocard of some kind, I don't know much about laptops, you should ask in the basement where to get/what to get when it comes to laptops.

I play video games on laptops since 1999. In the early years it was sometimes a bit limited. In the meantime, laptops became very competitive.

The problem is, that an high-end gamer laptop is about 2000€ or more.
But my experience is, that to buy the best available is not the best idea. So a 1000-1200€ laptop is ok, for gaming if you replace it regulary.

My current laptop has I7 840 processor, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 480 4GB mobile, 18'' screen. Its already a bit older, but everything runs smooth. Well, I did not check out compkillers like single-player FPS, but MMOs or RPGs on high setting are no problem
Today I would buy perhaps one with the 580 M or better graphic card. Mobile cards are usually one generation behind desktops. Processor and RAM seems to be still ok for gaming. Perhaps even an I5 processsor and just 4 GB RAM would do it. Processor is not the bottleneck for gaming, the grahic card is.

In 2013 my laptop is 3 years old, and I will replace it anyways. So Rome 2 release fits perfectly.
Wait with your replacement until 2013 and then buy a high-end gaming laptop of the last generation. They are sufficient and half the price compared to the best brand new model. If you just play Rome, in 2013 perhaps even a cheaper model will do it. Check the system requirements they announce. But do not expect to have fun gaming on a 500€ laptop.

Dont get a laptop you need a desktop for gaming desktops are cheaper and preform way better than a laptop you would need though something like above a $800 dollar comp not including monitor to even run shogun 2 and if rome 2 is going to have about the same specs as shogun 2 then that what you need to aim for btw you cant run it sorry

    Triple-posted, actually

Regardless, no, that will most definitely not run Rome II. Hell, I don't think that could even run Empire

in an ideal world I would say, get the m17x with a 680m and 3940xm as the cpu, put 16gb of 1866mhz ram and 2 intel dc s3700 ssds 800gb each

however we are not in an ideal world, whats the budget?

Actually i'm not even sure if you can play the first rome total war without heavily reduced settings
like unit size or graphic options.

I've seen desktops with way better specs not being able to let you enjoy you the game with
    halfway good settings.

While some people will argue that they can play the game fine with such a system - they usually
realize the truth when playing it on better systems.

Rome 2 will definitely not run on your system - CA said that they are trying to set the minimum
system requirements at the same level as S2TW and they are beyond yours.

Also my opinion is that you did no good switching to windows 7 with these specs when it comes
to playing games, in case you had previously win xp - off course if your system came with vista
then i'd say it was ok to switch to win 7.

I'm sorry mate, but you won't be able to play it, I suggest just making a PC yourself, is cheap and you know what you have

depends, a pc would be cheaper and argueably better, but a laptop is portable so you can be places playing rome total war, when you'd normally be staring at a wall wishing your computer was with you.
