    Default System Requirements Help

Hi guys I'm just wondering whether or not my laptop should be able to run M2TW. I've tried to install it already but the laptop just won't read the disk so I cannot even get the installer started. For this reason I think it might be just the disk that's wrong even though there isn't any scratches or anything of the sort on it.

    My specs are:
    Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit (6.1, Build 7601)
System Model: HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC
    Processor: AMD E2 - 3000M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
    Memory: 4096 MB RAM
Page File: 2479 MB used, 4641 MB available
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11

    Thanks,

Just to add I have rome tw installed with ALX which works fine and also have Roma Surrectum 2.5 installed and the settings are set to Huge unit size and terrain is on medium and sometimes high with little but often no lag. However sometimes the system overheats. My own PC at home can install the game but cant run the battles but this is because the system specs are too low

One thing it's not telling me is dedicated graphics memory.

This is one reason why I ned to full dxdiag posted either copy/paste or as an attatchment.

the minimum dedicated memory specs alone from Rome to Medieval2 doubled.

    Yes, it helps.
I guess the game is being stubborn.
Have you tried those links, yet for manual install?

Yes I tried them but the laptop still won't even read the disk. Whenever I click on the DVD drive a message just appears asking to insert the disk even though it's already there. There seems to be no DLA tab either in properties as was suggested in one of the links so I suppose I'll just have to do without it. Thanks for your time to answer me though.

Does the disc work in your desktop?
Is it a Blu-ray player in your laptop?

Ok I'be been away from home the past couple of months for University but I'm back for xmas now and I tried to install Medieval2 on the desktop again as the family had an upgrade while I was away and it works perfectly so it can't be the disk

Nope it's just a regular DVD player in my laptop and it reads DVD's and RTW just fine but not M2TW. I really can't understand how it just cannot read the disk?? However it reads disk 2 for installation but not disk 1 which is the game and works a charm on the desktop :/

If you can get an internet connection or a LAN between the two, why not try copying both discs to your desktop's desktop and then copying them to your laptop's desktop and running it from there?

I never tried it. When this one dies, I'm SOL until I build another one.

Try this first since Microsoft does include it, Windows Migrate or Windows Easy Transfer.
Type it in the box above the Start button, both may end up at the same place.
