Bug or what?

I don't know what I've done, if I changed something or not, I don't remember doing so, and then there is the possibility it's a bug, but somehow all troop banners, flags and standards have gone, and when I kill the enemy general, the bloody video of his death doesn't show anymore.

So how do I fix this?

Go into your medieval2.preference.cfg file, located in your install folder and see if "event_cutscenes = 0" under [game] if yes, change that to "event_cutscenes = 1" also check if "show_banners = 0" under [video] and change that to 1. I hope this fixes it .

Add those lines in the appropriate sections of the configuration file. Currently your game uses settings from another mod, that you started before going back to your game. You can open up the config file of another mod to see where these entries have to go (I do not remember).

No! Well, I'm now playing "my first campaign", or that at least is what the game thinks I'm doing, since I lost all my data and the game was like new.

Isn't the hidden M2TW folder in appdata/local/virtualstore/program files?

There is nothing there, only for Napoleon Total War, not Medieval 2.

you need to NOT look in the roaming folder. you need to go one folder back and then you will find what you are looking for. im having an issue with my battle AI. my troops do not charge OR chase enemy units correctly anymore. and when they are engaged in battle they spread out. and not group up. i dont know what i did. but i deleted EVERYTHING out of the hidden folder. got rid of all my mods and uninstalled everything and reinstalled and still same problem. they still fan out. is this a known issue?

It's not steam, it's 1.5 I believe, but that does make a difference eh?

Logged in as Administrator?
Unhide all files, folder, and drives in folder Options?
Do a search in Computer's top right corner search box just for log?

Wierd. If you are playing a campaign, there has to be one generated someplace. I'm out of ideas of where to look.
If you you more than one drive or partition, did you check them, too?

The game is supposed to generate it.
Here is mine. If I'm no longer a Moderator you will know why.
Unzip it and put it in your Medieval2 folder.
I also won't say it will work but try it.
