They get quiet in the winter (probably because their keyboards are frozen solid) hopefully because they're busy making us a very nice Christmas present, they usually release something epic after Christmas, I'm not saying they will this time I'm just being optimistic.

You can try to use google translate (that's what I do). However don't worry too much about it, enjoy 1.5.1, the last thing I heard/read from them was that 1.6 would need quite some time to be released... also, whenever something new comes up (mostly on the graphical department) you can see it in the Something New thread.

I think the team updates the twcenter site as much as the original russian site. I believe it will still be some few months before 1.6.
