I can't fight on the battlefield!

Hello dear fellows, I have a grave problem and couldn't find any solution despite my efforts here. So I'm sorry if this thread/question is misplaced, but I hope you can help me.

My problem is, I can't fight any battle on the battlefield! The only option for me is to simulate them and I hate simulating battles. I tried this during the campaign and through the custom battle option on the main menu but still not able to fight on the field. I get an error message saying "Medieval II Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit".

What do you think is the problem?

I suspect your computer has automatically updated to winter time or daylight saving time or whatever it is called in your location. For some reason, that makes the game crash. Manually reset your computer clock to summer time.

If that does not work, go to the mod files and delete the files called "Geography_new" or the like. It is a while since I actually had time to play, so I do not have the game installed.

If this still does not help, there is a bugfix and CTD section. I shall ask a moderator to remove your thread there. Try have a look through there.

Hmph... I encounter this problem before... all I can do is skip the turn >.> try to save my army from threat.

Deleting the files "descr_geography_new" worked somehow. Thanks for the help, have a nice evening all
