Default Limited ammo for artillery. Yes/no?

I think having limited ammo for artillery would be a good idea if possible. Sometimes the AI gets kind of silly and just sits there while getting annihilated by it. Limited ammo would let you soften them up before charging their lines with infantry (which is pretty WW1ish) rather than setting the time speed to max and going AFK.

Maybe there's a historical reason for not doing this *shrug*.

    What do you cats think?

Artillery's unlimited ammo is hardcoded if I remember correctly, it's impossible to modify.

Yeah, pretty sure it's hardcoded for N:TW and E:TW. However, in Shogun 2 artillery has an ammo limit.

And I mean, it is pretty easy to hit "stop" and "fire at will - OFF" and then charge your men

For Britain and the Commonwealth at least, after the passing of the Munitions of war act 1915 and the establishment of the Imperial munitions board. Munition supply problems were all but eliminated.

In Great War mod i think having limitless ammo for ART is good, in my image of WW1 artillery never runs out of ammo and can bombard enemy for months. As they did
Apologies for anyone who's message i may miss or not be able to answer
