Default Mods stuck in the launcher.

Having now installed Stainless Steel, that HRE mod and Battleaxe.
If I pick any of them I get the standard medieval 2 loading screens and then the game crashes.
To actually play the mods I have to use the kingdoms launcher app.

But can anyone tell me how to get rid of these broken options in the launchers?
I have tried completely uninstalling medieval 2 and deleting all the files.
    It didn't work.

I'll assume you're running a Steam download for the moment as that's the most likely scenario these days. Try downloading Squids Kingdoms Launcher App and let us know the results. Good luck!

I am already running that app and I am using steam.
The broken links in the launcher aren't appearing in the launcher app, but I can add links that work using it.

I'm having trouble imagining your problem. Any chance you could take a screenshot of the launcher and post it here? Thanks in advance. Good luck!

Take a look at the picture while you read this post.
See the 3 mods that I say are broken?
If I pick those it will show the default medieval loading screen before crashing.
Stainless, which I marked as working is there because I set it up in the kingdoms launcher app.
I want to know how to get rid of battleaxe, HRR and Stainless Steel from the list. A complete reinstall didn't work.

I assume you are talking about this.
According to Squid in that thread it works both ways.
If you are using 64bit OS, possibly this has something to do with it.

I am using that app, but Stainless Steel, Battleaxe and HRR_07 aren't appearing in it so I can't remove them.

Uninstall the game again and then do a registry cleanup using CCleaner, it will probably detect the inconsistency in registry as the game is uninstalled. That, in my opinion, should fix it otherwise one has to manually locate the .reg files responsible for showing the broken shortcuts.

    I'd just use regedit.

How would I use regedit to delete registry files in medieval 2? I can't find it in Regedit.
I have a steam version of medieval 2 installed on an external hard drive.

    Two problems.

Click Start and in the box above it, type regedit.
Press ctrl-f and type the mod's name.
Press f3 until it says there are no more.

Stainless Steel for one has more than one way of spelling its entries so it may take a while.

    For Steam, maybe http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...4#post12353194

Do what i suggested it will take less time and if it doesn't works then you may try the manual method suggested by the above forumite.
