    Default GPU Temperatures

That's one issue that has been worrying me since when I got my new rig a few days back. Never really cared about it before with my old 9800GT, but I heard that among the high end cards it's something you should consider.

I have an GTX 670 Asus dcII regular edition, i5-3570k, 8gb ram and a tx750w v2 Corsair PSU. My case is a Thermaltake Dokker ( it was the cheapest one I could find )

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The ambient temperature in my house is roughly 33 - 35C.The idle temp of my GPU is around 40-45C. When playing Crysis , the temperature hit 85C . I read it somewhere that once it passes 90C you should worry, so I was pretty scared. Is that temp too high? How can I improve it? Is that case harming the air flow?

The safe temp for that card, according to this, is 97c. So like most modern cards, it can run really hot.

And that is a pretty warm (actually hot) house. Unless I am misunderstanding you somehow, your home is over ninety degrees Fahrenheit? Wow.

At those temps, the idle temps are actually pretty good. I mean my old GTX 570 would idle at around the same when it was maybe ten degrees cooler in my home as compared to yours. And the load temps are understandable - if not a bit high. Again my home at 80-85f (anything over that and I turn the AC on) and the 570 would be over just over 70c under load.

But a game like Crysis is always going to tax a card. It is winter here and even when my house is 65f (I like it cold) Far Cry 3 was pushing the 570 up to 70c, which is really as hot as I ever let it get. It wasn't getting beyond that because I had custom fan settings mapped out in MSI Afterburner. Which might be something to look at for you, if you haven't already.

Yup. I live in a little backwater city in Northeastern Brazil- that is just like a desert - so not too hard to imagine the results...

Oh, that's pretty good. I wasn't really worried about the idle temps, though.

    With AC on, I got 60C ish temps, 70+ tops. Without it on and with GPU operating on ambient temps , around the 70s' . My highest temp was 85C;

Is my case good when it comes to temperature management, by the way? Oh, and what are these VID and FB usage? What's the ideal %?

I'll take a look at that guide.

Played again BTW,and got a 55C min and 81C max.

Have you installed all the fan in that case?

If not, and you are worried about the GFX temps, then you should consider putting a fan in the side just above the graphics card, such a fan will surely make a difference.

If your case was the cheapest you could find I doubt it has excellent airflow, doesn't mean should waste money on a new case though.
To reduce temps (in order of priority):
Open up the case, clean your heat sinks with compressed air.
Tidy cables away to improve airflow if applicable.
Add fans if there are spare fan slots.
    Consider under clocking GPU.

Other than that I know a few people who run their PC with the side of the case open. Wouldn't really recommend it though, cases have 6 sides for a reason.

Your temps are fine, nothing to worry about. If you are desperate to cool your GPU then install MSI Afterburner and run the GPU fan at higher speeds, temps will drop to about 60ēC etc without making too much noise.

Adding a 120mm fan right behind the GPU also helps considerably. Air flow should be outwards, of course.
