Default RS 2.5 - Game crash / End turn CTD

I have now played 2 Spartan campaigns that have seen their duration shortened by End turn ctds.

    -> Windows 7 x64 bit version
    -> Vanilla RTW 1.5
    -> No steam used
-> My game is installed in C: in a separate file that i created specificly for RTW/RS
-> The exe used in the launcher is RTW.exe and the campaign is 1 turn campaigns.

    System spec:

    Let's see, laptop with an IntelCore i5 CPU M 430 @ 2.27 Ghz 2.27 GHz
4 gigs of ram with 3.86 being usable
    Nvidia Gforce GT 330M

    Ingame graphic settings
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Game file modifications:
->The 4 turn per year 2.5 version has been added
->Changed the descr_building file in order to be able to recruit generals in every city that has the proper barracks level
-> Added units from the Greek City States roster in order to be able to use them as Sparta

The situation refers to the second Spartan campaign. The CTD occurs in the year 575 a.u.c. I had 3 different saves, 2 of which are no longer available because i've started a new spartan campaign and i've used the 2 of them.
The other one is about 2-4 turns behind said event. The event itself is pretty simple: in said year, upon clicking the end turn button, the game instantly freezes/crashes. No, it doesn't go through the turn of other factions. It crashes immediatly after pressing said button.
No game error report is given, just your typical windows "this program has stopped working properly and windows will now close it" warning.

I have tried uploading the save file i mentioned but when trying to upload it, it says Invalid file.

If you compress the .sav file usng WinRAR or 7z (or the in-bullt Windows function) you should be able to attach a save file. Either that or use something like MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com) to create a free account, upload the file there and include a link in the thread.

However, as you've made changes you need to supply those changes as well as otherwise it's a completely different game. Someone (not me) may then create a new game with your changes and test it.

If you want to see what is happening in-game - do the following changes in the relevant preferences.txt file

    change FOG_OF_WAR:TRUE to FOG_OF_WAR:FALSE
    change LABEL_CHARACTERS:FALSE to LABEL_CHARACTERS:TRUE
    change CAMPAIGN_MAP_CAMERA:SKIP_AI_FACTIONS to CAMPAIGN_MAP_CAMERA:FOLLOW_AI_FACTIONS

Then load up the campaign and try and keep track of what is happening (which characters are selected immediately prior to the CTD).

You mean you require a detail list of all the changes i've made to the game files?

Hell that's a long one that i don't even remember it.

    I mean, generally speaking, i altered the export_descr_building ; descr_sm_factions; export_descr_unit ; preferences; UI folder; descr_mod_battle

export_descr_building: well like i said before, i removed the region restriction on the spartan generals, making them available in every city / I copied the Greek City States units that i was interested in into the spartan barracks.

Descr_sm_factions: Changed the map colors for several factions (Sparta/ Gallaeci / Ptolmaic Empire / Boii / Dacia).

export_descr_unit: altered the stats on several elephant units

    preferences: disabled auto-save

UI folder: Made switches in the UNIT_INFO and UNITS folders. For example, i wanted to add achaian phalangites. So i went into the BRITONS folder, took the achaian_phalangits_INFO.tga file and copied it over to the GREEK_CITIES folder. The exact same procedure was done for the UNITS folder.
If i remember correctly, this was so that the correct unit cards would be displayed ingame, because prior to this, the units would show up in the barracks but with a peasant unit card.

Descr_mod_battle: Well this is a mess to explain. I don't know if im allowed to do so, but here's the explanation given to me when i asked around about how to carry out this change:

"You need to ALWAYS check, when adding a unit to another faction's roster, that they have 'ownership' of the unit in EDU.txt (as you discovered).

But also, you need to check 'descr_model_battle.txt' to make sure that the faction you give this unit to has a texture and a sprite.
Here is the unit you are referring to:

    type achaian phalangites
    dictionary achaian_phalangites
    category infantry
    class spearmen
    voice_type Heavy_1
    soldier macedonian_pezoi, 60, 0, 0.864 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
    officer macedonian_pezoi
    officer greek_flutist
    officer greek_standard
    attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, can_sap, hardy
    formation 0.9, 1, 2.4, 2, 10, square, phalanx
    stat_health 1, 5
    stat_pri 17, 8, no, 0, 0, melee, blade, piercing, spear, 25, 0.248
    stat_pri_attr long_pike, spear, spear_bonus_6
    stat_sec 9, 8, no, 0, 0, melee, blade, slashing, sword, 25, 0.292
    stat_sec_attr no
    stat_pri_armour 7, 18, 5, metal
    stat_sec_armour 0, 1, flesh
    stat_heat 2
    stat_ground 0, 0, -6, -2
    stat_mental 19, disciplined, highly_trained
    stat_charge_dist 1
    stat_fire_delay 0
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 0, 1885, 604, 95, 89, 236
    ownership britons, slave, greek_cities <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

The arrows point to things you need to check. Add 'greek_cities' to ownership. Now, check out the 'soldier' line.

    macedonian_pezoi

This is a reference to a 'slot' in DMB.txt, which is this one:

    type macedonian_pezoi
    skeleton fs_thp_f_spearman_p, fs_s1_slow_swordsman
    indiv_range 40
texture macedon, data/models_unit/textures/tone/macedon/macedonian_katoikoi_phalangites.tga ;;;macedonian katoikoi phalangites
    texture britons, data/models_unit/textures/tone/freegreeks/achaian_phalangite.tga ;;achaian phalangites
    texture slave, data/models_unit/textures/tone/freegreeks/achaian_phalangite.tga ;;achaian phalangites
texture merc, data/models_unit/textures/tone/macedon/macedonian_pezoi_bottias.tga ;;;;macedonian pezoi bottias
    model_flexi data/models_unit/macedonian_pezoi_high.cas, max
    model_sprite 50.0, data/sprites/RS_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite macedon, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_macedon_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite britons, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_britons_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite slave, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_slave_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite merc, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_tri 400, 0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f

Note that 'greek_cities' is not mentioned here at all. If you try to use this unit, game crash. You need to add this:

    type macedonian_pezoi
    skeleton fs_thp_f_spearman_p, fs_s1_slow_swordsman
    indiv_range 40
texture macedon, data/models_unit/textures/tone/macedon/macedonian_katoikoi_phalangites.tga ;;;macedonian katoikoi phalangites
    texture britons, data/models_unit/textures/tone/freegreeks/achaian_phalangite.tga ;;achaian phalangites
    texture greek_cities, data/models_unit/textures/tone/freegreeks/achaian_phalangite.tga ;;achaian phalangites
    texture slave, data/models_unit/textures/tone/freegreeks/achaian_phalangite.tga ;;achaian phalangites
texture merc, data/models_unit/textures/tone/macedon/macedonian_pezoi_bottias.tga ;;;;macedonian pezoi bottias
    model_flexi data/models_unit/macedonian_pezoi_high.cas, max
    model_sprite 50.0, data/sprites/RS_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite macedon, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_macedon_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite britons, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_britons_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite greek_cities, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_britons_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite slave, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_slave_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_sprite merc, 50.0, data/sprites/RS_macedonian_pezoi_sprite.spr
    model_tri 400, 0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f

    "

The save has also been attached now

Edit: I have tried what you suggest, but it doesn't give me any different results. The game instantly crashes.
With that save, when you're about to press the end turn button for the 3rd time is when the game goes down

Not list them - supply the files.

Basically, you're not playing RSII but a different version of it which no-one else will be able to play until the files are supplied.
