I'm trying to find some movies, but appearantly there are no good movies around. I checked www.rottentomatoes.com - which lists most of the so called "movie reviewers" opinion, and now it furiates me what they do.

I even checked on some of my favorite movies, and yet these people trash even if its good, or happened to praise a piece of garbage that shouldn't even be made.

I know, opinions are different, but I have seen many of theser reviewers dead wrong in both ways.

Simply, lately nothing satisfy these bastards. I have come to a point, that I am questioning whether or not ever beleive what the backside of the box says ('riveting!!!", "better than ___ (insert a famous movie)!!!" "a thrill ride!!" ) and questioning what these "reviewers" say on various newspapers and websites.

I come from the single point, that these people do this for a living. Also, because all they do is watch movies upon movies, I come to think, that it's hard to satisfy someone who all he/she does is watch movies for living. Imagine how many movies these people have to see (almost all) and imagine yourself watching 3-4 movies a day (or more?) and do this every day for the next 10 years. They become immune to many ideas and see " a movie" as a job, and measuring things to their standards (having seen a lot of movies), so automatically anything that doesn't satisfy their need (they review several look-alike movies), they label it trash, regardless that it's only them who has seen it all, heard it all before.

Also to be noted. These people simply can control what movie to see. They can actually destroy people's carriers, or make people beleive that someone is a good actor/-ess/director/etc while he/she is really not.
They hold the media in a hand, such a way, that depending on people already looking for the large red texts on back of the box about the praises and exclamations, they can make your rent or not rent; buy/not buy; see not see a movie and thus limiting or raising its popularity.

I have seen some amateur directors with a small budget trying to break into the business, only to have his/her carrirer destroyed by these bastards.

I have also seen some high-profile directors/actors with large budget and unlimited resources to make a worthless movie and yet still be praised on.

So just my 2 cents, I wonder what anyone else thinks.

I think the best reviews come not from professional reviewers, but from regular people who go watch the movies.

    Personally, I like this site:

Tolstoy argued in his famous book 'What is Art?' that those who cultivate appreciation of art as a profession develop a perverted, distorted sense of taste that renders them unable to value the art most worthwhile for them, far less so than a simple peasant of unperverted taste.

Guess what? His book was lambasted by the critics.

Woah - you wouldn't see that coming.
