    Default Mongol & Cuman Campaign Map Movement Points for SS 6.4!

    Hi guys, this isn't a full-fledged submod, but this is a little something that I hope contributes positively to people's experiences with Mongols and Cumans. Basically, it's designed to get around the massive territory sizes of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and to help give the Mongols a more sudden (and impactful) invasion while allowing the Cumans a hasty flight from their own homelands if they so choose. These factions also become better raiders as other factions have a seriously hard time catching up to them in the field. My goal is ultimately to edit the campaign scripts for both eras so that both playable and emergent Mongols' characters who spawn as the campaign progresses also possess these traits, though that requires some playtesting.

    Below is an attached file with some rudimentary directions, along with a visual guide.

    The NomadCulture traitline functions for agents, and the Nomadic traitline functions for generals, however, they are the same in terms of the bonuses they grant at each level, and the probability of gaining each level. A newly-recruited agent is guaranteed the lowest level (+10 movement points) at least, making them highly efficient at crossing the map!

    General with Nomadic 2 (+15 movement points)


    Now no longer commanding cumbersome artillery


    Now with lightning-fast cavalry only!



    From my tests so far, this is compatible with Late Era with permanent watchtowers, RR/RC and Royal Ladies of the Court. Further tests will be done to see how it works otherwise.

    Doesn't the Cuman bloodline trait give movement points in 6.4? Don't the titles of quite a few eastern settlements give movement points?

    The "Of Cuman Blood" trait grants +5 to movement points, but that's only for descendants of the Faction Leader. This trait gives a strong bonus to Man-of-the-Hour generals, adopted generals, family members, and recruited generals. It also affects agents, so keeping a Spy or Assassin in your army for protection doesn't bog you down. It's also not title specific, so just because a guy isn't the governor of a province out in the middle of nowhere, no longer precludes him from being able to move at a high rate.

    Nice idea! +rep. May I use this in SSMAP? We were already planning on giving Cumans more mobility, and this is better than what I cooked up.
