    Default The future of TATW

I would like to know King Kong, or any other member of the team, if TATW is finished or can we look forward to a new preview soon of things to come?

I belive the use of this mod has exploded with the release of the hobbit, me + five of my friends went straight home and started playing after the we had seen the movie. So i am very much keen on knowing what the status of TATW is

    Best regards, Fedual

I'm not sure on what you and some others expect to have added to the game. Most optional content is being filled in by submods and most suggestions lately either add very little or will have unacceptable consequences to either balance, lore or are simply impossible. Very bluntly put, I think Third Age Total War is a finished product with submods filling in niches or additional content.

edit: not part of any team or something. Just venting my thoughts.

I have an interest and KK might do as well to split the silvan elves. But well, I'm going to wait till the new designs for mirkwood elves show up in the next movie.

I'm With Both Opinions. I really think TATW does not really need more things since many sub-mods cover those little things that are missing. The only think I would really think they could add is more Custom Settlements. And also Louis Lux you are right I think that waiting for the Hobbit to see the Silvan Elves would be a nice idea to have new models for the Silvan/Lorien Elven Overhaul.

Yeah, as people concluded here too, I think at best, they could add "more of the same". Extra custom settlements, tweak some scripts etc. But nothing that will really alter the game.

    More custom settlements.
Flying nazuls and eagles (not usable in cities)
Units like real beornings (werebears) and amored wargs.
Vegetation edit (no more palm trees in mordor)
Ambient settlements changings (no more churchs)
    etc etc etc...

Take for instance Leo´s Dol Amroth map, (and all the other maps that are not in TATW atm) that would be nice to have in-game

Speaking of the devil glad to hear it, i would love to also see alot from the hobbit movies, SPOLER ALERT!
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
An updated Thranduil battle model were he rides that massive stag is one thing i came to think out right now, there is alot to collect from the hobbit without ruining lore, like, we cant have thorin ofc. But there are things that can be used that would look awesome in TATW
tho i dont see how eagles and nazguls that fly can be implemented, ive seen Call of Warhammers "flying" monsters and it makes my eyes bleed

I'd be grateful for an adjustment to whatever assigns battlemap elevations so that the terrain correlates more closely with what we see on the strat map. It doesn't differ wildly all the time, but for me it very often has and it ranges anywhere from grossly inconvenient and unexpected to outright buggy.

Another thing I noted was Elrond's armor in the Hobbit. They released some production photos before the film came out of him in it, and since TATW is just that, Third Age Total War, it would make sense for his armor in game to be what it is in film.

Flying nazguls would be ing AWESOME! In any case, I don't believe KK and his team will ever stop improving the game, although the most of the hard work is over. There is always something better to come

Remember that KK and most of the mod team for TATW also do a large amount of work for Stainless Steel, where SS 7.0 is currently in progress. Once SS 7.0 is finished, they might come back to look at a new TATW version. MAssive improvement from 2.0 to 3.0 though, im very impressed.

I don't think KK is still working on SS, I though 6.3 or so was the last version he worked on. I don't know of anyone on the team being part of the SS team, except Germanicu5 maybe.

I agree that Silvan Elves(Mirkwood) need their own armour set now we know what it looks like thanks to the opening scenes of Erebor, I am almost tempted to take pictures with my iPhone of the Mirkwood Elves just so designers have a point of reference, next Wednesday.

Yes but I need more than 01 design to make a decent looking roster.

Weren't the ones accompanying Thranduil in Erebor different from the ones seen on the mountain?

Both are a variation of the galadhrim design (helm's deep) mainly difference was the helmet which seems to be a closed of galadhrim helmet. Nothing was really brand new but could of course be incorporated.

I absolutley love Third age 3.2

Good work to those involved. This mod and Roma Surrectum 2 are the most amazing total war mods i have come across.

I definately think more is better with this mod. Love the custom settlements Osgiliath, Helms Deep ,Edoras ,Back Gates , Minis Tirith etc.

Hope we eventualy get Barad Dur, Dale, an interesting Umbar concept and of course Dol Amroth. Maybe even give the Easterlings a custom settlement. You guys are amazing and i actualydon't mind the combination of Book lore and movie design. Well done!

I have to point out that the ultimate resource for information on anything Middle-earth is NOT PJ's and FW's atrocious interpretations, it is the books by the good professor and they have been around for long time.

Sod the films, the less of them in the game, the better.
