I'm using 3-4 priests per region, and I am finding it very difficult to raise the religion level and, consequently, my priests don't grow their traits. Has something changed since the last version? I'm playing Rage of the Dark Gods 1.5.1.

Which faction are you playing, and what region your trying to convert?There can be numerous reasons why conversion is hard, specially special buildings like Blood keep, characters, surrounding regions, etc... Priests should get traits normally with Empire, can't really say others but I can't remember any problems with them..

Hey Kahvipannu, thanks for replying. I'm Hochland, trying to convert places like Beastmen temples, after conquering them militarily. The traits themselves seem fine - I checked them out, and the normal triggers for growing faith are present. So, I think that perhaps there were changes to descr_campaign_db that make conversion slower (and, consequently, triggers never trigger because there's never a sufficient religion shift).
What did you changed on descr_campaign_db?
PROUD TO BE A PESANT. And for the dimwitted, I know how to spell peasant. <== This blue things are links, you click them and magical things (like not ending up like a fool) happens.

Have you destroyed the chaos temples?
^ this too. I remember my first campaign as Wisseland and being unable to bring back the beastment provinces to his most holly and righteous sigmariate light. Then after like 40 turns I realized those cities still had those heathen pagan temples!

@cenkiss
Yes, I did destroy the chaos temples - I always destroy enemy buildings upon conquering a settlement.
@Lord Baal
I didn't make any changes to the descr_campaign_db, but I suspect that the problem could be there, because the traits and triggers don't seem to have changed.
Hmm, there's definitely something going on here. When I sent priests to places with very low Empire religion (e.g. dwarf or border prince lands), the priests do seem to convert, and pick up the StrongFaith trait. However, in lands with circa 60% Empire religion, neither the religion conversion buildings nor the priests seem to be doing much good...
I think its meant to be hard to simulate how tough it is beat the spead of chaos!
You won't be getting 100% religion, in fact much about 70% is pretty good. There are some weird regions though in western Empire that on turn 60 with 8 priests and no chaos buildings were hovering around 50% surrounded by Empire lands. The religion mechanics are different from any mod I've played but overall I sort of like it. Sometimes conversion happens quick but often is slower and the influence of bordering regions seems more important (as Elves taking a single settlement and holding it in middle of other religion is quite noticeable.
