At the head of a Roman Legion, Gaio Giulio Agricola moves on the purpose of pacifying the Ligures and conquer the city of Genua.
The tribes join forces for an atack on the incoming Roman army and Agricola has the chance for the decisive battle he wished for. Even tough his cavalry is not yet with the army, the General decides for a confrontation and deploys the legions on a customary triplex acies with the alas of the Allies on the flanks.
The first clash will be takes by the Hastati, with the Princeps in the second line with the elder Triari acting as reserve.These senior legionares rest their spears and shields in their customary manner.
With a roar the ligurian warbands charge the Roman lines, forcing the hastati back to the princeps.
the air is filled with roman pilums and javelins from both sides. The princeps enter the fray and the General sends some triari in support of a overwhelmed ala. He himself charges the enemy cavalry almost getting killed in the process.
Finally the Ligurians start to give in, a rout spreads from their right wing to their center, until finally the entire army leaves the field.
The disciplined Roman soldier has won the day.
