Thread: Good, classic games for iPhone 5?

  1. #1

Default Good, classic games for iPhone 5?

Have there been any decent re-releases of classic games on the iOS platform? Games like TES3 Morrowind, warcraft 2 etc. ?

I've only discovered GTA3 as of yet.

And if there aren't, are there any AAA (I dislike unserious stuff like arcade or indie) games released or in development?

There is one game i've been playing quite a bit, it has some cheesy name like Contract Killer: Zombies or something but it's a pretty fun game although it isn't based any classic games I know of.

Just because you mentioned GTA3 - Vice City should have been released a couple of days ago.

Dewy: Do you have any examples to the contrary?

SoulBlade: Isn't that illegal? I don't want apple to ban me from appstore.

Everybody else: thx allot 4 the advice. I bought GTA3 a few weeks ago, and I might just buy vice city if i like the predecessor well enough.

You just have to buy the emulator app from the store and then download the ROMs from coolrom.com to play the games. Why would it be illegal? It's abandonware.

You're kidding right? Indie's for one deal with much more mature and serious subject matter. And by mature I don't mean AAA mature by throwing a swear word in every sentence and showing over the top gore and nudity. And indie's are by and large much more serious about making games than AAA developers. To indie's it's about loving the art of games and for AAA developers it is making the most money.

Star wars Knight of the Old Republic is a must for anyone.

    ~Wille
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.
