I have only one word for the single greatest manga ever.

AKIRA

That was the one with the guy who turned into a giant baby monster in a sports stadium...I remember it, but I don't remember it actually making a hell of a lot of sense.

I liked the Cowboy Beebop movie - excellent choreographed karate sequences.

There was another movie...Ghost in the Shell, I think it was, and this naked chick ripped her own arms off trying to tear open the hatch of a tank. That was a new experience for me - that whole chick-self-arms-tearing thing.

I also saw one called Wicked City which started with the hero being seduced by a demon in disguise, and at the exact moment they climaxed in bed together her legs stretched out and grew into great hooked spider-legs that seized him...then when he broke free from her cackling body she fled by stretching a web out from the orifice where her vagina had been...

And I saw an episode of Devil Man once, where he was being carried around the skies by this bare-breasted eagle-clawed demon, and he said 'Then kill me now to spare me the humiliation of my defeat!', and she cackled and said 'Ahahahaha! Never!'. That line has seriously stuck in my memory.

The Japanese are all mad, you know. That's why I'm learning the language. I like organised lunacy.

Akira's pretty good, somewhat overrated perhaps.

I prefer Ghost In The Shell. I also saw a great one a while ago called Perfect Blue.

Nice thread . Yea I love most anime. Here within the last month I came across a thing on You Tube called AMV HELL, and after watching it I came across an anime I had never seen, nor heard of before. I thought wow that’s kind of cool. Well after about a week of watching the small clip I found out the name of it. And so I started to watch what I could. It was called Elfen Lied. I'm now an huge fan. I'm in the process of buying it as we speak . Most people think I have problems for being in love with it lol. It has some very very dark scenes. Some of which even I could of dealt without seeing. The parts I'm talking about is not the nude nor the gore scenes but the one were this little girl is sexually abused by her step father. But its not an long series. And I would like to get my hands on the manga. But I don’t think it has been done in English yet. And other then that I'm an huge fan of Gundam. Other then me my one friend is in love with both AKIRA, and Hellsling. And the other likes Ghost in the Shell.

one thing i really hated was naruto, to me it was sooo boring and overdramatic. I didn't realise that you could fall for 8 minutes and like, sing a song and do a dance. It got even worst when it was just like two people falling and everyone's just staring in silence.

Geez, I thought my dvd was broken at one point when i was watching it

That show is sooo frickin' awesome , but the ending could've been a little more satisfying that is one show that is well worth the investment. I mean its like constant death! how much cooler can it get?

Glad I'm not the only who knows about it. Or perhaps I should say not the only one who loves it lol. It was a sad thing how it ended. It was suppose to go on to be a much longer anime but for some reason was cut short. (Oddly enough it was not because it wasn’t an hit. Its one of the best selling Anime DVD's in both the U.S. and Japan.) This is why the anime follows the manga up to episode 9. Yea in the end when you see a shadowy person standing by the door it ends. It was set to go on with Lucy still being alive. But seeing as how it was cut short the director decided to let the viewer decide if she lived or died. Personally I hate that, because I seem to have a bad habit of picking people who either die or are said to be MIA. So when I get into an fan debate I keep getting into arguments on rather (Insert char) died or not. Yea you aint kidding on the death part. I mean OUCH I sure as hell don’t want to die like Mariko's "foster mother" the idea of having vectors inside of you and not knowing, followed by them grabbing your insides and then bursting out. I’m sure you know the part I’m talking about.

ya but I really wanted the series to go on It's like watching a bird grow from a nest, but have no idea what it became Well at least there was that special OVA they released, but it didn't have anything to do with how it ended. It was that special episode about nana. Have you seen it?

Yes I have seen it, thanks for asking. It had just the right amount of comedy so it didn’t seem like a spin off. It was funny but at the same time it stuck to the type of funny Elfen Lied is. Like Nana's arms and legs coming lose after racing Nyu. Nyu picks up Nana's leg, and as she watches Nana slowly crawl towards her, after reattaching her one arm. She gets really big eyes, and then Nana says "Give me back my leg" and Nyu drops the leg and runs of screaming. O that’s just great stuff. The OVA was such an huge hit there has been talk about doing an few more. There are an few characters that were left out of the anime that are main ones in the manga. I would personally like to see one in which Nana’s dark side comes out. Her being the opposite of Lucy and all. Were Lucy is an murdering machine and her spilt personality being a care loving person. Nana is an care loving person with her spilt personality being an murdering machine.

I'm sorry I have to say this, and I know I'm going to get flamed, but I hate Full metal Alchemist. Don't ask why but if you blame something blame the fanboys. Other than that I like most anime (Especially anything wiht Bigtime mech combat.)

Naruto but I once love (to much) Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and DBZ.

Yeah, I hate it and I really can't believe how people around her love it so much. My hatred of it turned into an inferno when this happened.

I was in a bookstore about the time that the LOTR movies were big I was reading one of Tolkiens "Unfinished Tales", when two other people came over and asked me if it was worth it to read the books and see the movies, from there I got into a conversation with them about the books. After about five minutes of this conversation some guy (who apparently was with them) came over and said "Hey you guys, look at this :he walks over and apparently has some manga and three dvds: Look what I found there on sale, we gotta get them!" I look puzzled as they were Whoring themselves over the total waste of rees when I ask them about our conversation "Shut up you @%@!, nobody reads anymore, especially some stupid fairy-tale plus Full-Metal Alchemist is way better than some book by some guy from Turkey!"

I just stared at him, I wanted to basically kill the idiot after that comment, but I stood and walked off to pay for my book. (Plus his car did the work for me :inqusitio )

Cowboy Bebop have always had a special place in my heart. Yes, truly amazing piece of work.

Well, my favorite is Dragonball. All of them, but the best is Dragonball Z for me. And Vegeta is my favorite character.
Then my favorite is Street Fighter 2, and my favorite character is Fei Long because he looks like Bruce Lee
Even if I haven't seen any episodes or movies, I only played the game from it, I like King of Fighters, and my favorite character is Joe Higashi.

Yes, posting links to television shows that still fall under copyright is very illegal, and the staff has a definite "no-tolerance" policy towards things like this. I wouldn't want to see you warned/suspended for something as easily avoidable as a hyperlink!

On-topic:
While I haven't watched any anime lately, I used to eat the stuff up in my early teens. Yes, I fell prey to the siren song of Pokemon, Gundam, and Dragon Ball Z. What can I say? I repent. Although I have been watching more and more Adult Swim lately, and I'm fairly sure that they air anime occasionally.

Naruto used to be good. Then Kishie decided that listening to fangirls was the way to go. Naruto Part 2 sucks, no questions asked, and don't get me started on the anime (Naruto's voice actor is the same one who did Ash Ketchum in Pokemon).

I know. It makes me cringe in fear whenever i hear any of their voices, its so...wrong.
