The turn 40 barracks event unlocks the Eldar units with golden armor for the HE if I'm not mistaken.

The new skins is far far far better (it is than better that next to them, Silvan Elves skin seem a little old)

Yes it is possible, but it needs quite a bit of work i guess to get the new skins in the proper places..
you need to use the file BMDB , to change the pathways of which files the game needs to seek.. and the texture files from the units in question.. quite a bit of sorting out.. And i fear you should really have to do this yourself cause most people are content with the new skins..

IT's indeed possible, but you'll get a headache if you are not experienced with modding. Not really worth it i think. And why would you even want that?

Wait for the barracks event and you'll get the gold units.
