Will the Total War team be touching the Warhammer IP any time soon? I think not.

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.
"Third Age" and "Call of Warhammer" are both very appreciated mods. No wonder CA wants to put its hands on it.
Fantasy total war will be interesting.it will give people a chance to moan that the orcs are wearing the wrong helmets
I actually like the warhammer setting so i will watch this development with interest
The Warhammer games were crap. They weren't nothing comparable to a real RTS. Probably they need the help and minds of CA to create a decent RTS game for fans.
The WH40K games were good but now they are no more real RTS. So this makes sense.
Which ones, all of them ?
Personally, i've very much enjoyed Warhammer games since Shadow of the Horned Rat and Dark Omen back in the day (must be at least 15 years ago). Granted, they weren't really RTS's, but they were definitely a ton of fun.
The Dawn of War series was also quite good, (not counting DoW 2).
Im personally looking forward to seeing what CA can come up with, and i hope they'll stay within the realm of tactics and strategy.
My mind is literally frothing at the bit of the potential for this.
Not to mention things like 'Historical' battles of the Warhammer Mythos.
Any of the battles of the War of the Beard? The Battle of Finnuvial Plain with the High Elves and their Dark kin?
Oh man. I am excited.
Not to mention heroes? Gotrek and Felix? Wizards? The winds of Magic?
So. Much. Potential.
I have to hold myself back to not overhype this for myself and get disappointed...
Forward, march!
Why is this in Rome II forum?

TOTAL WAAAAGH !
Sounds not that bad,i would buy a Warhammer game from CA.
Total War's history buffs are going to hate and despise this - as will probably anyone hoping for a China total war anytime soon - but I don't actually mind CA taking TW outside human history and into a more fantasy realm. Gives them far more lead way to develop their own in game culture and story rather than just doing their best to mimic historical time periods. Not that I don't hope they continue making historical total wars after Rome, just wouldn't mind them branching off either.
*and yea this doesn't belong in Rome 2's subforum
if they wanna go for fictional TW pls Lord of the Ring instead of Warhammer
CA is not only Total War..
Exactly, a new dev team will tackle the first release with the Warhammer IP, which seems like it will probably have a release date of early 2014. That means it will be unlikely that the next Total War title will be based on the IP, so at best, it'll be a good 3 or 4 years before we even get a glimpse of the Total War team making a Warhammer based game.

I am more than ok with this.
"The challenge of modernity is to live without illusions and without becoming disillusioned. " - Antonio Gramsci
"Those who do not move, do not notice their chains." - Rosa Luxembourg
Basically this
But I was expecting we were going to see total war as a table top game with soldiers you had to paint with a giant world map to play on which would some sort of combination of risk and monopoly and when you went to battle, you had to take all your soldiers outside and fight in your garden.
