Default Monitor problem - power light flashes

Hey guys. For a week now I've been experiencing a problem with my monitor which is an LG FLATRON L204WS. When I open my PC the power light of the monitor flashes for about an hour and then it opens. After it opens though, it works as usual, without any noticeable problems. Is there a way to fix this? I really don't want to buy a new monitor because my budget cannot afford it right now and I'd prefer to keep this one if possible.

No, haven't made any changes in windows (still running windows 7) or drivers. Also I forgot to mention that while the power light flashes, the screen is completely black and during this time, pressing the power button of the monitor won't have any effect. You can't turn it off while the power light is flashing repeatedly.

A quick search gave me this - Screen doesn't want to come on. Two possible problems: Either there is a bad inverter in your monitor (unlikely as it works over time) or the back light is burning out (most likely if the fluorescent bulb is slowly burning out). Either way this is a problem for a repairman and is not likely to be software error or bad installation.

If under warranty them send it back for repair. Otherwise find a local shop to do the work if you can find a place you trust. Good luck!
