    Default A Pyrrhic Victory

Playing as Epirus, I've had a lot of fun so far. Macedon was getting pretty strong, so I decided to attack.

My troops: A full stack, mostly the units I started off with in my homeland. My Italian operations have been hugely successful, and that campaign has been completely seperate than this one. So while two family members were in my full stack, Pyrrhus was not there. I had those 2-silver experience skirmishers, very valuable in the fight ahead. My army was capable, but I only had a couple pikemen and a handful of normal phalanxes with some light cavalry.

Macedon tries to break up my siege with it's own full stack. Mostly pikemen, a few family members and cavalry. I had some problems; I couldn't take on the pikemen head on, because my men were normal phalanxes and not pikemen. But with some maneuvering, I had a chance.

The results of the battle: Absolute carnage. I have never fought a more intense battle in all of my experiences.

I won, but it cost me almost 2/3 of my army and a family member.
Another such victory, and I shall be utterly undone.

And this is not a different angle, this is just a little bit off screen from the first image.

The best part? I captured a city!

Oh yeah, and when I clicked "Exterminate" all the while thinking, "That'll pay you back you little bastards" Rome crashed.

    ******* G****mnit Mother******* son of a *****

This is still the most exciting mod I've ever played, I've had a great time so far. I think it was more of a problem with Rome than the mod, as far as the crashing goes. It had been acting funny. But great job on the mod, well done! I highly sugguest it to everyone.

cause the slow kill rate of phalanxes units dont rout till very late so its a fighht to the last man sometimes.
    Woe to the vanquished

Yes, crashing after winning a large, intense battle is very frustrating. Used to happen to my all the time when I played Mundus Magnus 2.0.

Neither is this the dawn from the east, nor is a dragon flying above, nor are the gables of this hall aflame. Nay, mortal enemies approach in ready armour. Ravens are calling, wolves are howling, spear clashes and shield answers

It was exhausting so I autocalc'd it.

With "auto_win attacker" cheat, I'm sorry to say. But I won that battle fair and square, a very very intense battle, and I didn't want to go through that again. My campaign is at a standstill right now though, as my allies have backstabbed me and I am barely just holding on to my eastern provinces.
