    Default Via HD audio help please....

    well i bought a motherboard (Asus P8H61-M lx3 plus)... to my horror, i cannot hear any sound effects (horse's march, sword clashings,infantry marches, feet stompings, gun firings, etc.) for all my total war games (empire, medieval's, shogun 2)... the built in sound card is a VIA HD AUDIO

    so to those who have the same Audio cards (VIA..) please help... is there a way to make those sound effects appear?
    what i've done so far: 1.)update audio driver
    2.)check configurations - use and tested all available sample rates, available in game audio options (5.1 speakers, mono, stereo,7.1,etc.)

    heres my spec:

    OS: windows 7 ultimate 32bit
    6.1 build 7601
    motherboard: ASUS P8H61-M Lx3 plus
    Audio: Via HD Audio (built in)
    codec version: 6.01.10500
    package version: 10.5.00.32
    Video Card: NVidia GTS450
    RAM: 4gig
    HD: 2x 500gig

    thank you,
    regie

    You've given us a lot of information that is largely irrelevant. We don't need to know how many hard drives you have or your GPU for this problem. We need to know how you plan to listen to your audio. Are you using speakers? Are you using headphones? Are you plugging your system into a 7.1 home theater system? Etc., etc....

    The reason I ask this is because I want to make sure you haven't made a cable mistake. If you haven't made the proper connections then you won't hear the output from your sound card. Check your cables and get back to us. Good luck!
