Default DBEditor not saving to the game?

    Hello!

Well I've been doing some unit unlocking (Unlocked like, 3/4 of the hidden units that you see from campaign, etc) and I think I'm pretty much done. However when I saved my DBEditor and checked in-game, they're not there.

So I thought that I didn't "Run as Administrator". You know, with the bad feeling that I have to redo everything after an hour of changing every unit from "False" to "True"? Well, I was wrong; Everything WAS saved. This was done without using the Admin option. So now I'm quite confused on what to do to resolve this kind of problem.

    Help?

Add the units to the factions you want in unit_to_faction or a table like that

Hmm. I do not see the table. Only tables I see within the "units" is:

    "unit_to_unit_abilities" / "units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions" / "units_to_gov_type_permissions" / "units_to_grouping_military_permissions" / "units_to_special_editions_juncs"

Also, if it's the factions one mentioned, how do I make it available? It's greyed out as well.

    solved?
if not you gotta go to the vanilla table (the grey uneditable one), then go to file/new units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions_table, select the mod-pack and create it. then copypaste the unit from vanilla to new table.

or another reason could be: copypaste the units_tables entry of the unit you wanna play and change the columns that say "early_availability" and "late_availability" from "False" to "True". save and check it ingame.

Hmm. I'll check that. Also, anyway I can change the "False" to "True" thing all at once? I mean, doing it one by one is a REAL pain.

Does checking off "Late Availability" and "Early Availability" work for Custom Battles as well or only Campaign? :L

the availability on campaign depends on the buildings in which you can recruit the unit.
you can assign units to certain buildings in buildings_units_allowed_tables

Thanks a lot PunitorMaximus! I got it working!

However, I had to uninstall my game and my mods have been conflicting the "extra" troops. Other than that, I'm playing it and they work fine.

Cheers! (Can close this thread now. Officially solved. Just some mod conflicts.)

Been a while since last modding units, but if it conflicts, it's because mods use them I believe... As vanilla ones, or edited ones. If you still want your units, if I remember correctly, all you need to do is to create a new ID in units_table and copy-paste the rest of the tables (well, preferably change screen name as well for obvious reasons but I think it would still work without changing it). Other than that, you might get weird things just like no description but nothing serious and could be solved with a bit more modding.
