Default General comments and questions regarding various mods progress

I thought someone was working on a submod called Battle for the West, or something similar. Has this project been abandoned?

I am just trying to keep up on what is still being worked on and what is dead as far as SS mods go.

It looks to me like SSMAP and HURB, and perhaps 1390, are some of the major mods making constant progress at the moment. I am guessing that SS 7.0 may be out for the count, and I figure that Point Blank will yet come through with RR/RC 2.0!

I understand that good progress is being made on Kingdoms of Heaven and perhaps Clash of Kingdoms for BGRV as well!

My only question would be in regards to SSMAP, HURB and 1390 is whether any of them will ever incorporate BGRV?

Thanks to all of the modders for all of their great work!

War of the West has went off to develop into a full mod instead of a submod.

PB hasnt' made too much progress lately, though he usually makes a lot of progress in a short time when he wants to.

SS7.0 is moving forward again from what I've heard.

I may try to incorperate BGRV down the road but the two are seperated by a lot of stuff right now, including the fact that HURB has a very different faction set which in itself is a problem. I'll look into it when I get HURB to a satisfing point but that is still quite a ways away.
1180, an unprecedented period of peace and prosperity in East Asia, it's technology and wealth is the envy of the world. But soon conflict will engulf the entire region with great consequences and lasting effects for centuries to come, not just for this region, but the entire known world, when one man, one people, unites.....

Thanks for the update Rolling Wave. It all sounds like great news to me!

And thanks for the great work on HURB. I haven't played it yet as I been quite busy of late, but it is definitely at the top of my to do list once I get a little more free time!

I'm making progress on Clash of Kingdoms, just started adding/replacing/removing units (wall of text doesn't quite describe the Broken Crescent battle_models.modeldb ). I was holding off that stage until I'd figured out factions and regions - getting down the Russian provinces has been a major step. As you can imagine, laying down rivers in particular is rather tedious and not really report worthy (and when you see how open the Russian lands are, you really do need those rivers as points of reference, even if you intend to delete the smaller tributaries afterwards). I'll be putting up a major update before Christmas of *all* the units I've added in.

A great idea to make this thread bluesky, some info on submod progress is never bad, especially for someone who dosent follow submod updates too often like me. Im defineatly going to enjoy playing SS when the winter holidays come, for now i cant play more than 2 or 3 turns a day because i have other stuff i want to do or just have to study, and im going to install some new mods and update the existing ones.

Q for rolling wave - when is HURB going to have the next stable or semi-stable release? For now i see you are constantly updating and working out the bugs which are reported by the players and you are coming in with new ideas as well. I do like this approach as it keeps the existing users active in your thread with bug reporting because they know you will work them out and continue updating the mod, but it is harder for a newcomer to get the hang of eveything.

What is playing Medieval 2 like again? I've only played Empire in the last month or so...then SS 6.4 with BGR IV last year.
