Default Rebels: terrorist or true peace lovers?

Every single faction in the Land of Hyrule are xenophobic. But I can name one faction that has evidence that they are not. The Rebels are the only faction that as bin seen with multiple races fighting side by side, and on many occasions.

Are the world Powers out for peace or conquest?

One thing is for sure. The people who are the rebels have made peace with their neighboring races, and put their trust and lives in their friends and racial unification over their governments. War is not tolerated by every one.....

I would love to hear peoples thought on this. A little philosophy to south the soul and sharpen the mind.

I like to think as rebel cities as independent countries/ city-states. Rebel armies, like brigands, however, are usually just common mercenary scum. As for peace? There is no true peace in Hyrule, which is why I love it so much.

The Warring States Period Of Hyrule.

    or

The Warring Races Period Of Hyrule.

History shows that Qin...ahem?! Hyrule won the conflict, and rose to supremacy.

Unless Link Relay botched it, with his time travel.: And now All the races git a second shot at ruling the world.

    My thoughts on the subject:

The factions of Hyrule are typically xenophobic in accordance with their race's ideals and the like. Rebels, by virtue of being rebels, oppose their respective faction's ideals and try to push their own agendas on their followers instead. If other races can support the goals of rebel factions, and if these factions' ideals do not make them innately xenophobic, then rebels would more than likely be willing to work with members of other races, as it assists them in both the short and long terms. I neither romanticize rebels by seeing them as the "all-tolerant, all-loving, get rid of oppression" group, nor do I condemn them as barbaric anarchists who managed to gather the scum from every corner of the world to serve under them. They are a different people with a different set of values. That is all; it is neutral.

The rebels are just meant to be a landgrabbing mechanic for the beginning of the game. It gives you the choice of expanding thin or fortifying what you have.

Wow. That's very mechanical and boring of you. Use your imagination!

What about unoccupied rebel settlements at the beginning of the game?

Simple: Settlements that have not yet been founded.

I believe this is more of a discussion of lore establishment rather than as a game mechanic.

In terms of lore the "Rebel" faction is actually not one faction, it's completely separate and independent groups that are thrown under one faction banner because A) engine limitations and B) They are so small that the bigger empires just label them all as "rebels." Some rebels are nothing more then destructive raiders (Gerudo Pirates), others are social reformers (Zora Uprising), and some are literally just wild animals.

On the topic if rebels, what's up with the huge Twili garrison at the dead maku tree in the lower left. Also, what game is the dead maku tree from? I was thinking Oracle of Ages.

I'm not sure but I believe that is a reference to the dead tree that serves as the first dungeon in the original LoZ.

I've never seen any Twili forces in the campaign. Well there is supposed to be some units on the top left island, but I can take over it without any fight occurring.

I think it's the evil tree that shows up in the manga.
Ahh, I was way off. It's named after the tree in the GBA oracle games.

The Dead Maku Tree was from my RPG, Fallen Sage. There was a host of poorly rendered Twili creatures living there and they were responsible for killing the tree.

I don't mean to pull away from the original topic but does anyone have a map of hyrule as it is in the mod? I can't find the dead maku tree for some reason.

You can also use the console (can be opened with the ~ key) command toggle_fow to see the entire map.

    @GoldenGohma

It's the bottom left territory. Look south of the Moblin area and west of Ikana.

^Well, I finally SEE it but Ordona usually gets there first.

Oh, what's this I see? No-inbetweens falacy? My, I would hardly call Wild Gohma true peace lovers, but Dishonored Pacts surely aren't terrorists, if not shining citizens either.

    Arise, my army!
