Will you continue to play 0.53 after v1.0 is released?

As the developer of Fire and Blood, I have put an awful number of hours into planning, testing, and creating my own little version of Westeros, complete with new factions and odds and ends. As have many other users - I highly recommend that you check out the 'submods' sticky if you are not familiar with the other submods!

However, with V1.0 (hopefully) drawing closer - I thought I would pose the question:

How many of you think you will return to 0.53, whether vanilla, enhanced, or submodded for a different sort of Westeros-fix?

I'm as keen for v1.0 as the next person, I am just wondering what 'plans' the community has for supporting older versions and submods.

to play 0.53 after 1.0 should be an obvious case of severe mental problems or illness that has clouded the individuals so severely that he get mistaken for the mentally impaired.
no seriously, if 0.53 has any redeeming qualities compared to 1.0, I will quit modding and just cry in shame for several months because I fail both as an individual and a species... thats how bad the alpha is imo.

Only for hotseats. Otherwise, it's all 1.0 baby

Though, come to think of it, by the time 1.0 comes out most 0.53 hotseats will likely be abandoned.

Just so we clear, we are not talking about the old alpha here right? Because that version is totally unplayable in both hotseats and singleplayer. The submods do enhance it a lot.

I will of course try to update King of Rivers and Hills as fast as possible to the 1.0 version.

in what aspect, do you find Alpha more suited for a hotseat game?
since im on EDU, EDB and map duty I have hotseat always on my mind more so than single player.

I know you have the best for hotseats in mind. We will test it before release and I have confidence it will be good.

It is just that enhanced was somehow very suitable for hotseats, as is evident by the huge hotseat community we've build here.

Well people will play 0.53 so that they can spam units without consequence and so that they don't need the inevitable building/recruitment guide to work out how to play 1.0

I don't know why I just voted... I haven't played 0.53 and I doubt I'll play 1.0 for a long long time... Summer Hols perhaps...

Taking in the fact that i'll be recording ALL the house's in the Alpha soon it's safe to say once v1.0 is ready i'll wipe it from my PC and forget all about it, other than that i'll keep the Sub-Mods until they are updated (If ever) The alpha itself will never see the light of day again.

Could be a while until i start recording the rest of the alpha mind you... the Blackfyre Sub-Mod is taking a lot longer than i had planned... currently House's Lannister, Tyrell, Baratheon, Martell and Stark have all made an alliance with the single goal of kicking my ass out of the crownlands... at this rate i'll have to fall back to Dragonstone and rethink this rebellion.

Maybe if I have some ongoing campaign with 0.53. At the moment i have none so i will simply abandon 0.53.

Depends on the submods. It will take a while for them to catch up with the 1.0 and if they are fun, like the KOTRH, i might play them still.

Sorry for the confusion, by 0.53 I was referring to the 'Enhanced' version and the submods built upon it. I have not actually played the original 0.53.

If Westeros v1.0 is released before Fire and Blood v1.0, then I will finish the 0.53 version, before porting it over. It should actually be fairly easy... The only problem is the skins

I won't play 0.53 for the submods because I think 1.0 will get his own submods, but if 1.0 is not hotseat friendly I will continue playing 0,53 untill it is.

Truly most of the scripts are being done to be hotseat friendly - even the victory conditions and chains - so it's just a matter of balancing it out.

On a sidenote, is the ability to build wooden fort a nice thing for hotseats? I was thinking it would be better disabled. I ask cuz I never played HS

I enjoy forts, but there are others who hate them. I think the best way is to keep them but increase costs, like 2000 or 2500 for one fort or so.

Yeah forts are great but way too cheap. One fort can save a whole stack and many settlements. With the cost of 1500 you can construct a fort almost every turn to protect armies on the move. 3000 would be more appropriate.
