I want to add a small trade function to increase economic possibilities but I have no idea how to work it into the current system.

A trade system wouldn't make sense in Middle Earth, caused by the Good-Evil-conflict. It's clear for everyone that only the good factions would trade under each other and the evil factions only with the evil factions.
Whereby the good factions can RP some sort of trade and evil factions could launch raids to enslave more people - all this to increase economic growth
I've lost faith in events. I'd like to have a loose system by which people have options do to things if they want to do them with little time restriction and not needing a moderator.
I am trying to remember...we have creativity when it comes to making units right?
If so, we should make that point made in the rules.

Dwarves of Erebor: Severus
Men of Dale: Pinkerton
Elves of Mirkwood: Gandalf
Dol Guldur: Lucius
Goblins of the Misty Mountains: Lord Dread
Dragon: Shankbot, Trot, Pericles
Colonies (only when the above factions are taken)
Goblins of Gundabad: open
Elves of Lothlorien: Shankbot
Easterling Tribe/Men of Balchoth: Xion
Dwarves of the Iron Hills: NotYetRegistered
Men Of Esgaroth: Garland
Dwarves/Orcs of Moria (risky colony for both Dwarves and Goblins): open/Trot
Can be an individual or faction; Goblins of Gundabad is still open. You would be working with Lord Dread
If you need some help, I would recommend this site:

I presume one of my units can't be a Pygmy mumakil brought up to the sea of rhun by Balchoth merchants :p. Not that it's on my 20 unit list. Just curious.

Xion does like his odd units, he has a sort of obsession with the exotic.
