M2TW GOLD: Kingdoms.exe not found

I'm trying to play the kingdoms expansion, but my kingdoms.exe has dissapeared. I tried re-installing, but to no

avail. Any suggestions?

You have a bad copy of Kingdoms expansion. Where did you get it?
Is this part of the Gold Edition?

yup! gold edition, also, it worked about a year ago on my older windows xp computer.

Then uninstall it, and install it in C:\Games with the UAC disabled and see if this helps.

Have you tried reinstalling? Go ahead and disable UAC if you haven't already done so. (see here)

Still does not work. I would like to mention that when i insert my kingdoms expansion CD, the game crashes. No launcher or anything...

I couldn't help but notice your desktop is in French. I looked you up - are you a Quebecker? Are you running a French version of the game? If so what region did you get that game from? Can you post a link to the Gold patch that you used?

@irishron - what if it's a localization error? French Quebecker using the North American patch for a French language product? Might explain a few things?...

Yup! From Quebec, but I know my english pretty well so i have all my games set to english.

In the installation process, it only asks me to insert cd #1 and not the cd#2 kingdoms expansion. Could this be the problem? I've tried installing and un-installing about 5 times now...

It could very well be.
Have you tried running the setup.exe in each?

I see you're installing to the [Program Files (x86)] directory which is the default. The problem with that is this old game doesn't like to be installed there.

Try uninstalling the game completely, scrub the Registry and then install to either the regular Program Files directory or C:\Games. Also, to be sure it works, locate the individual installers for the game and the four expansion packs for Kingdoms. All the legacy installers were included with the Gold edition. Good luck!

The game doesn't install the kingdoms expansion. It's almost like it assumes my kingdoms is already installed so it doesn't bother. Could this be the problem?

In Add/Remove Programs, are the Kingdoms campaigns listed?

Yes, I found them, I assume I need to delete them, then re-install everything?

Uninstalled everything, deleted the kingdoms files found in previous picture, then installed again. Still not working.
