Default Is there any proper way to move a game console?

I move my PS3 between my bonus room upstairs to a room downstairs and back several times a week.
I always get worried that this might somehow damage it. I have no idea how it would (shaking things around too much maybe) but I want to keep any sort of risk down. So what's a good way to move a console around?

There was an issue with the 360 when moving it with a disc still inside as the mechanism didn't hold the disc firmly and sharp protrusions could deeply scratch a disc. DOnt know about the PS3 - but Ive read enough manuals over the years to know they usually advise removing a disc before physically moving something.

Other than that - I used to toss my PS3 in my bag and bring it to a friends house a couple of years back. I never did anything special. Even got bounced into a curb on my bike by a car and fell on my back with it in there. Still works just fine. They are pretty beefy. Look up any of the videos where they take them apart.

Make sure you lift with your legs.

Seriously though, it's fine. Put it down easy and it should be good.
