    Interested in playing as tully but won't have my laptop with the game till later next week so not sure if that's ok.

    Really like the rules, especially with the forts. What exactly did you do to make permanent ones?

    Also how overpowered is cavalry b/c you might want to make greyjoy units cheaper/stronger since they have none.

    It can wait mate

    About forts, I read it somewhere in this forums:

    Code:
       <settlement>
          <sack_money_modifier float="0.4"/>
          <exterminate_money_modifier float="0.5"/>
          <chiv_spf_modifier float="1.0"/>
          <chiv_sof_modifier float="1.0"/>
          <dread_sof_modifier float="-1.0"/>
          <piety_cor_sif_modifier float="1.0"/>
          <piety_admin_sif_modifier float="0.0"/>
          <port_to_port_mp_min float="100.0"/>
          <heresy_unrest_modifier float="30.0"/>
          <religion_unrest_modifier float="20.0"/>
          <siege_gear_required_for_city_level string="huge_city"/>
          <siege_gear_required_for_castle_level string="moot_and_bailey"/>
          <no_towers_only_for_city_level string="huge_city"/>
          <no_towers_only_for_castle_level string="moot_and_bailey"/>
          <min_turn_keep_rebel_garrison int="999"/>
          <destroy_empty_forts bool="false"/>
          <can_build_forts bool="false"/>
       </settlement>
    Bolded lines are what you're looking for.

    About cavalry and Greyjoys... meh, if they get screwed for their lack of heavy horse, that's not my problem, that's realism for ya

    Plus considering how goddamn expensive heavy cavalry is...

    @uriyaca

    Forgot, as I made quite a big edition of the OP. Adding you now.

    About your questions, hang on...

    1. No trading settlements either. And nope, Stannis cannot receive crownland settlements by diplomacy.
    2. Calculate? Not at all. Suppose you are besieging Casterly Rock with Vicky Greyjoy () - Casterly Rock is a citadel here, ergo you need to use 750 points in siege equipment. That means like three turns if you got a single stack. With, say, two full stacks, things go quicker. No, there's no special engine, just the screenshots to prove you built the equipment, else the admin fines you heavily

    Thing is, storming a big castle should be a big deal, that's the purpose of this rule.

    3. Yes, there will be more rules, including the usual ones. I'm feeling lazy right now though...
    4. Zone of Control. Each army and settlement has one, consisting of all the inmediately surrounding squares, and it prevents enemy armies from passing through it.

    @Loose Cannon

    Hey, I added 15 damn sec HP to all cavalry

    The spearmen without armour got nothing to do with it. Try against some heavy infantry unit.

    About weapon upgrades, should we keep them?

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend: the city of the Men of Númenor, and I would have her loved for her memory, her ancientry, her beauty, and her present wisdom. Not feared, save as men may fear the dignity of a man, old and wise."

    @HH yes "false" in the last two lines is what you need to have permanent and unbuildable forts. can't help you with the section posted in first post. We've never been told what that means by CA.

    yes, eliminate weapon upgrades. leave armor. this opinion is based on Point Blank's opinion/statement in Real Recruitment.

    I know right? +6 attack, wasn't it

    But armour upgrades are kind of unrealistic you know... I mean, armies in Westeros are supposed to be consisting of a rather large amount of conscripted peasants and all. The 1.0 version of Westeros won't have armour upgrades, for example.

    Still, it's all open for discussion as of now

    I am almost sure terrain doesn't count in autoresolve. I confess, I haven't tested. Haven't tested for stuff like stamina either.

    Cavalry with my files do seem to cause ridiculous results when defending, particularly in settlements

    Oh, poor ironborn, always getting kicked around

    Let's hope uriyaca makes them justice

    Default Re: [Experimental Hotseat] A Stormy Clash of Kings with Swords

    Why am I not Greyjoy? I fixed the problem I had with enhanced, you can add me now

    Also, got a damnable stack of questions:

    1. No bug abuse or exploit, including disembarking from ships to ignore ZOC and stuff like that. If you are suspicious of other player, do PM the Admin.
    2. NO BUILDING DESTRUCTION OF ANY KIND. Since forts can't be built, and now archers and cavalry are (hopefully) useful, all buildings are necesary.
    3. No sailing out of blockaded port, and no hiding an army on a fleet inside a port.
    4. Sallying out suicidally to deny your opponent the chance to sack your settlement? That's So Walder!
    5. Unbreakable alliances? Not entirely, but:
    a. Stark and Tully is unbreakable, unless either Stark or Tully bloodline gets eliminated.
    b Lannister/Joff is unbreakable, unless either Joff/Tommen or Lannister bloodline get eliminated.
    c. Renly/Tyrell so long as Renly is alive. After that, all bets are off.
    6. Both Stannis and Renly must go for Kingship, neither of them can make peace with each other or Joffrey, so long as Stannis/Renly/Joff-Tomm be alive.
    7. Regions can only be gifted to their original owners. Exceptions: Dragonstone and Driftmark can, as regions of the Crownlands, be gifted to Joff.
    8. Now in order to storm a settlement, there is a new system (lemony lemony lemoncakes ).

    In order to be able to storm, your besieging army (or armies) must have siege equipment worth a predetermined number of siege points, dependant on the settlement class:

    Town and Large Town: 165 points (say, three rams and a ladder)
    Minor City, Wooden Castle: 345.
    Large City, Castle: 480.
    Huge City, Fortress: 665.
    Citadel: 750.
    1) About regions only being able to be gifted to their original owners: that means no trading settlements as well? also, because Dragonstone is considered part of the Crownlands, can Crownlands settlements be gifted to Stannis? (Rosby, Stonedance, and so on...)

    2) Will we need to culculate the amount of siege points? and how will we do that?... is there going to be some special engine that only allows you to attack when you reach said siege points?

    3) Are normal rules (like the regular set of rules that are in normal hotseats, such as: a defeated army can't move the next turn, or: a fort must be manned by at-least 4 unitsand such) going to be in this game?

    4) what is ZOC?!

    I was making some tests on other stuff, and it turns out terrain does affect AR.

    It was with Pavise Crossbowmen against some heavy infantry. For some reason, they were kicking the crap outta the infantry when they weren't supposed to , turns out the infantry had a penalty in sand (I was conducting the tests in Dorne)

    I don't know just which tile it is that assigns the bonus to each army. Is it the one where the attacked army is in? Or does each army get the bonuses or penalties from the square they are on?

    Too tired to test right now though

    Also people, please test the files in single player a few times, using only autoresolve. Use both Medium/Medium and Hard/Hard difficulties, I want to determine which one might work better with the new autoresolve stats.

    Actually, I've seen crazy results with archers in a/r testing. Most of mine was done in SS but still. The first was in Aoc where lt men at arms and spearmen sgts attacked equal number of crossbow militia and lost. Then one levy archer beat one spear militia. Fight those yourself in custom battle and archers lose. these oddball and unexpected results threw me and real life has prevented my finishing any kind of improvement. Who knew holidays could waste so much time.

    I'll do some testing on your stuff tonight. After I catch up on all the games I'm behind in.

    yes, HH, leave the armor upgrades out. If we were playing western Europe over the course of several hundred years they would be ok. But the time span of this campaign is, what, 10 years? Units should have different levels of armor-leather, mail, plate but not be able to upgrade.

    In other news. Lord Greyjoy is reminded to offer fealty to his true king, Joffrey, first of his name, yada,yada,yada and not clain any kingship of his own.- signed Tywin, Hand of the King.

    Har!

    So, I'm planning on making a sort of rework to unit recruitment all across the board. Don't despair, it will be balanced and awesometasty

    Will be up in two or three days.

    Plus ljomx has to get his computer with the game as of yet (which gives me more time to mod)

    @Loose Cannon

    Aye, this damn CA plays with our minds (well, the minds of us who are curious enough to meddle with the game engine)

    I did read the other posts, and Ithought you said that pavise crossbowmen beat heavy infantry, so thats why I said their too good. Actually modding is not my field as-well, I tried to learn but it's too damn boring. Mod workshop only sais and explains certain topics, there is no guide or something like that to teach how too.

    Anyway, sure I can test the single player. Will do it today or tommorow

    Har! ljomx has his PC now. That means the only thing holding this HS up is meself

    Don't worry though, I'm actively modding stuff for your pleasure (and mine ofc). It will be on soon

    Here are a couple teasers (only text, sorry):

    Night Battles:

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Trigger diet_of_carrots_1
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnStart

    Condition Trait NightBattleCapable = 0
    and IsGeneral
    and Trait Intelligent >= 1
    and Trait Scout >= 1

    Affects NightBattleCapable 1 Chance 100

    Trigger diet_of_carrots_2
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnStart

    Condition Trait NightBattleCapable = 0
    and IsGeneral
    and Trait Intelligent >= 1
    and Trait TacticalSkill >= 1

    Affects NightBattleCapable 1 Chance 100

    Trigger diet_of_carrots_3
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnStart

    Condition Trait NightBattleCapable = 0
    and IsGeneral
    and Trait GoodCommander >= 3
    and Trait Scout >= 1

    Affects NightBattleCapable 1 Chance 100

    Trigger diet_of_carrots_4
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnStart

    Condition Trait NightBattleCapable = 0
    and IsGeneral
    and Trait GoodCommander >= 3
    and Trait TacticalSkill >= 1

    Affects NightBattleCapable 1 Chance 100

    What does this all mean, I hear you asking. Well it means that now conditions for a general to be night fighter are more complex than simply '5 or more command stars'.

    In order to have this oh so esential trait, a character must be either a Proven Commander or Smart, and then have one or both of the following traits: Promising Tactician, or Adopts Scouting.

    Scout and TacticalSkill are now easier to get, so don't worry. Plus a lot of characters start with these traits.

    New AOR system and unit changes:

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Town and Spear Militia are gone. Now Spearmen are also recruitable at cities (and cities can recruit better units, though not as fast as castles). A lot of name changing has been going on. Now Spearmen are Levy Spearmen, Mounted Sergeants and all those light cavalry are Mounted Men-at-arms, Armoured Spearmen are Men-at-arms, General's Bodyguards = Sworn Swords, and more changes. Oh, the generic Armoured Swordsmen are mostly gone. Real un-Westerosi unit if you ask me. They are however present as Marcher Swordsmen, only available in Stonehelm and Blackhaven.

    AOR system is the following:

    Regular southron factions can recruit Levy Spearmen, Archers and Crossbowmen in all regions that are not Dornish, Northern, or Iron Islands. Exceptions are Arryn and Lannister, whose spearmen are unique and can only be recruited at starting regions. More advanced units, such as Knights and Men-at-arms can only be recruited at the faction's starting regions (AOR), to simulate the fact that minor houses which provide most of the armed men would only fight for their Lords Paramount.

    Joff, Renly and Stannis all share an enormous AOR, consisting of the Crownlands, Stormlands, and Dragonstone and Driftmark. Since they are all Baratheons (well, Joff is a special case), and all are vying for the throne, allegiances become rather murky. So Joff, Renly and Stannis can recruit all their pro units in the other Baratheons' regions as well as their own.

    Martell only recruits in their own regions. However, they don't have to rely on weak levies, so they are stronger on that respect. Plus they have more varied (and thus more numerous) cavalry.

    Stark recruits in the North.

    Ironborn recruit on the Islands and Raiders can be recruited at any region with a port.

    Moat Cailin recruits NO units. Harrenhal can only recruit basic levies and sellswords (see below).

    Sellsword units are now more widespread, recruitable at large and huge cities, and fortresses and citadels. Still, Stannis can recruit in higher ammount due to having the Sellsword Guild at Dragonstone

    Truth be told, if the AI were only slightly better, these files would kick arse at single player as a submod. But the AI stinks so...
