realistic units
are there any mods that do not change the map, just the units to be more realistic?

Re: realistic units
I doubt it. As changing all of the units to be more realistic is a very large part of the game, they are often only found in total conversion projects. However if you are really cool (like myself) you will download a bunch of mods and handpick what you want. Its a bit of manual coding to be sure, but well worth it

Re: realistic units
EB is very good, but also very unfinished. A good balance is TE Gold or RESGESTAE Id say. As far as pure units are concerned, RG is the one to go with.
Also dont neglect mods like Troy and Chivalry - they make for a completely different atmosphere.

Re: realistic units
TE = Terra Expugnandae (not sure of spelling there): A mod with a good map and a lot of good units from various sources
RG = RESGESTAE: A mod which has a lot of very nice extra features as well as amazing units (imo)
EB = Europa Barbarorum: A historical mod (rival to RTR) which has very good (obviously historically accurate) units. The names may throw you for a whirl though
All of these mods and a lot more you can find in the Hosted Community Section of the Forums

Re: realistic units
It does not have the detailed units of EB or RTR, but still has some good ones.

Re: realistic units
what mods have the area of recruitment or zone of recruitment from the TE, EB, or RG? also in RG, cant you build an entire legion instead of just smaller units?

Re: realistic units
Res Gestae only released new roman units. They did not release new models for the eastern, barbarian and greek. Am I correct? If not please post the link to download the whole new set of Res Gestae units.
