Gamefront has banned half the world!

It appears as though Gamefront has banned a long list of countries from using its file upload/download service, which of course has implications for the accessible ways of downloading the mod. Please stay tuned while we address the issue.

Mediafire is good enough, just sad how many files were lost to thousands of people due to this, Hundreds of games got their own small filefront and those follow these rules too

Hey vengur, you probably know this already, but V. 4.6 och the great war mod have broken links. Gamefront have banned several countries, so that's prob. why, but the rapidshare link wont work either :/

My guess is that maybe they received a lot of abuse from those countries. I know a lot of website rangeban Russia and South American countries for that reason.

Don't Aanker, firstly it may spark confusion, and secondly (more importantly) there will be endless requests for tech help. I don't know about you, but for me that's a pain using the moddb comment format. It's better to concentrate all of that here until we can set up a local forum or make a guide for 5.0.

I still have access to gamefront, I'll put up an alternate download for 4.6.

Did gamefront give a reason for this? the location of these countries are very scattered, there doesn't appear to be a pattern, besides south america.

It seems downloading a file that is uploaded from a "bad" listed country isn't downloadable anymore either.

A, this can let you be banned for promoting illegal activities. Cause you acces a site that is been blocked from your country with a reason. this is against TWC ToS. B From the Netherlands we can still download and upload without problems so the "fail" is more from your(Norway) side then ours(The Netherlands).
