Problem editing Character Traits

Greetings!

First many thanks the designers for such a wonderful MOD. I really enjoyed it, especially for the historical realism. I was once addicted to EB1.0 3 years ago. Recently I re-installed vanilla RTW1.5 and EB1.1/1.2 on top of that, problems occurred.

I cannot edit the "export_descr character_traits" file. Even tiny changes causes quit-to-desktop when launching game. I was really doing nothing complicated, not adding anything new, but only deleting bonuses in the AIGeneral and AIGovernor traits. (I find it weird always seeing AI generals having much higher stars than my battle-hardened FMs). This never happened before when I edited RTW or EB1.0.

I noticed that there is some difference between EB1.2 and EB1.0. For example, I found that in EB1.2 there is an additional "export_descr_units" file under the folder called "sp game edu backup", and that this file overwirtes the "export_descr_units" file under Data folder every time when launching game. I guess there might also be another character_trait file I should edit. However, I have no clue what I should do.

Sorry for not reading other discussions thoroughly. I just found a similar thread http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=567320, and I will follow the instructions first.
