    Default DVD Drive problem

My DVD drive has developed a problem, in truth it has had it for a while, but Ithought it had to do with the hot summer we were having...

Anyway onto the problem. My DVD will play CDs - music and ones with computer programs on them but when it comes to DVDs a problems crops up. The player will play DVD movies but if I stick in a game DVD, say Rome TW Gold Edition, it recognises that:
    1) It has a DVD in it.
    2) What the title of the DVD is

But it won't autoplay and any of the executable programs on it are 'not Win 32 programs' or something like that:

    What have I done?

Well, the autoplay is working well - well the DVDs and CDs play automatically. This also includes PC CDs. The issue only happens with PC DVDs:

How many DVD drives do you have? Are both D and F drives DVD drives?

I think putting Will and Grace Season 4 in there may have been part of the problem.

In all seriousness, try downloading a firmware update from the MFG's website.

hmm some how daemon tools or powerISO messes up with any of the drivers auto play and it just shows the files inside of the cd.... maybe try taking the cd out and putting it back in to see if it works now..

    are you still have trouble??

if so is this happening with both drives or just the F: drive?? if it is just the F: drive right click the drive and go into properties... go to hardware and start trouble shoot

that might find out whats wrong with your drive..

If nothing solves the problem, you must disconnect the drive and uninstall the driver. Then you must download and install the driver again.

Go into your device Manager, remove the device then restart and let windows auto-detect it and see if that helps.
Also use a registry checker to see if Daemon tools left any entries.
