Family tree broken

Hi all,

When I click on my family tree, I get a Dacian family tree (instead of my own Julii one) with most of the leaders already dead. This must have something to do with the fact that one of my governors was Dacian but is now no longer around. This bug was cropping up from time to time before, particularly after I loaded a saved game, but now its always there. Have Searched the forums and come up with nothing. I am playing RTW Vanilla (Gold Edition)

Your playing Julii but you got a Dacian Governor? how did you do that? did he marry one of the family daughters?

He might have bribed a dacian family member.

I have bribed a few enemy generals, but this bug has never happened to me.

Hopefully someone will come along who knows a bit more.

I saw the same thing way back in 1.1 as Scipii. Had to do with bribes as best I can tell. That Greek diplomat who bribes everything in sight appeared to be the problem as I ended up with a Greek family tree. The only solution I know of is starting over.

I suspect this might happen when the bribed family member happens to be the faction heir at the time. It could be the timing of the death of the faction leader is the eventual trigger.

Thanks I hope someone knows something more... maybe I could edit some in-game files with some sort of family tree pointers.

I'm having this same problem. My bribed general is dead, but his son became my next king after the old king died. But now when I click the family tree button, I see another faction's tree.

What's going on?!
