Default oil in call of warhammer

the oil (the one at the gates) in call of warhammer has managed to burn an enemy ram however it does not inflict any damage to the enemy I have seen orks passing through the gate and taking it as if it was a shower, not even one ork was hurted or died even the one that were previously hurted by arrows!!!

I was just wondering why doing that, well it is a nice aspect cause now sieges are much more difficult
however they could have made it a bit more realistic

    what do you think guys?

Well, you can't expect an ork simply to die because it was bathed on oil&fire.

No but you can expect an in-game Ork to be hurt since oil is supposed to affect all units in the same way. If it is set to damage only siege engines (don't know if that's possible but I wouldn't be too surprised if it was) it will have some weird effects.

Darkcrusader8, have you tried it with smaller creatures like humans and other puny things with no extra hit points?

Will have to watch this carefully as in the vampire counts battle oil was coming down but I didn't see many enemy troops go down.
