The Serpent and the Sisters - New Submod for Harad
Well, my Dunland submod is nearing completion, so I'm officially announcing my next project:
"The Serpent and the Sisters" will flesh out the Harad faction along lines some of you may have become familiar with from my other submods. This will include Haradan subfactions with associated character traits, ancillaries, and new AOR units; new elite regular roster units; and a number of special quests/objectives to complete to bring your people fullly under the dominion of Sauron with associated rewards.
Harad in general will reflect more of the Numenorean influence that would have necessarily come from centuries of rubbing elbows with the men of Gondor and other Numenorean colonies. This will be particularly pronounced in the Umbar regions and roster and less so in the desert interior far from the Numenorean influence of the coasts, but expect the entire roster to be revamped.
Right now I have the following changes in mind:
New units
- Harondor Warriors - light infantry recruitable between Ithilien and the Harnen River (also available to Gondor)
- Urdwan Lancers- camel mounted light cav with lance, scimitar, and buckler recruitable with caravan routes
- Visi Guards - professional medium armoured swordsmen with scimitars and shields recruitable in far south regions
- Golden Serpents - armoured 2H heavy infantry recruitable once all quest objectives are complete
Existing units:
Corsairs, Serpent Guards, and Hasharii will have special/AOR recruitment conditions added
Haradan Ethnic subfactions
- Haruze - dominate culture from Harnen valley south
- Umbarean - mixed Black Numenorean/Haradan sea folk of Umbar
- Urdwan - desert nomads of inner Harad desert regions
- Bozishnarod - urban Haradan culture of the far southern trade centers
Quests/objectives:
- The main storyline will be to defeat and suppress local cults and replace them with the worship of Melkor to bring all of Harad under Sauron's dominion
- Minor objectives such as establishing trade routes, building guilds, etc.
More details and previews as the work progresses.

You should take a rest from all your modding, sounds neat though!

Just wondering if it will be playable with other mods [such as MOS 1.4]?

Down the road maybe. Initially this will be for vanilla TATW 3.2 only.

Down the road, maybe. Initially this will just be for vanilla TATW 3.2 only. As with my other submods though, I plan this to be an entirely open source project, so users will be free to edit and republish versions compatible with any other submod.

Sort of, but not entirely. When you play as Harad, each of your generals will be a member of one of the subfactions via a character trait. So, you'll have some Umbarean generals, one of whom will be ruler of Umbar. I'm also going to be revamping and expanding the Umbar units.
So, if you choose to recruit lots of Umbar units that's a possibility. You could also, by picking and choosing whom you adopt (and maybe by accidentally sending some family members off on suicide missions) create a family tree of all Umbarean generals.

Re: The Serpent and the Sisters - New Submod for Harad
After some careful thought, reviewing some of the forums, and discussion with other modders, I'm going to be changing the flavor of this mod somewhat. Along with developing the Haradan subcultures I'll be revamping the Umbar roster and generals to make them less like "toothless savages" as portrayed in the PJ films.
Harad in general will reflect more of the Numenorean influence that would have necessarily come from centuries of rubbing elbows with the men of Gondor and other Numenorean colonies. This will be particularly pronounced in the Umbar regions and unit roster and less so in the desert interior far from the Numenorean influence of the coasts.

I like when you say look less like ruthless savage cause I talked about that alot of time in other discussion that it would be awesome to have a non savage human evil faction.

Re: The Serpent and the Sisters - New Submod for Harad
Working on ideas for the roster with Alley Cat (he's done some great work on other mods and submods and it's an honor to collaborate, please +rep him).
We're drawing some inspiration from this page: http://wiki.lindefirion.net/UmbarWarcraft
Expect to see Haradrim militias at lower tiers and special/AOR units, plus Gondorian/Black Numenorian based urban line infantry and marine (Corsair) units from the faction's Umbar/Harondor/Harnen River valley heartland.

I have just read the link you posted and I must say that my mouth is watering for these new units. If you can pull off the mix between E and W that will be sweet indeed! Looking forward to this very much.
