My Uesugi campaign
turn 35 on hard, takeda and hojo are wiped out, Date down to one province, and I went down the middle to connect the north shore with the south shore. Checked some forum topics about the Uesugi to see how my campaign was going, and I seem to be having a much easier time then most.
Some of this was luck, turn 2 Jinbo was destroyed before my army was done marching out of my starting province so I turned them south, allied with ashina, who kicked dates butt in the west.
Most of it, was taking advantage of the how aggressive the AI is on hard. I sold military access to all those nieghbors, and bought a bunch of archers. Takeda took my vassal, then marched out with a 15 stack army towards my army coming down, they got wiped out, I lost alot of yari ashigaru, but had all my bows, took the province. 2 turns later they sent a 17 stack at the new province, which my bows destroyed. I marched my army out to are border, and attacked their farms when I reached it, hoping to draw them out. They didn't come, so I headed for their capital which was unguarded, I expected them to come try and get it back, but they didn't, so I marched back north to their last province, now unguarded. Made them a vassal, and revealed a 20 stack army on my capitals border that now belongs to my vassal. Must have been takeda's last stack, now protecting my heartland, ha!
Since then it's been easy, as satimo keeps launching half stacks at my castles.
I know I'm countering the aggressive style very well, but I think one thing a lot of ppl aren't aware of, is selling military access, to keep up with the ai's hack recruiting system. You have a lot of neighbors, you have to make it an advantage instead of a disadvantage.
